On Kreg's lead, I too put together an R-Strap this weekend. Total cost - $5.10 for parts from Home Depot.

1ea 1/4" 160lb caribiener - $2.23
2ea 1/4" x 2" eye bolt with nut - $.98
2ea 3/16" x 1-1/2" steel ring - $1.47

This is one intersection where I still don't quite feel safe out in the traffic. This intersection is a wide 5-lane intersection where cyclists are actually encouraged to use the crosswalk as they come off the trail. I may try it a few times just to test the waters. The state of Washington driving laws state its legal for cyclists to use either -- sidewalks and crosswalks or the road. And on the road, we must follow the same traffic laws as cars. In less busy areas I use the road, no problem. But this one area just makes me uncomfortable.

Possibly... but I've never played with shadow copy before. SyncToy has been working well for me.

Regardless of the tool or mechanism, if it ain't scheduled, it ain't getting backed up.

My goal is to commute by bike at least 2 days per week. Did it again today, one more day to go this week, and that's currently slated for Friday.

Up until today, it has seemed that each ride was getting easier. Today, for some reason, I struggled on my way in to work, and after the trip back home, my legs are mush.

Thanks Andy. It's just under 12 miles each way. I was in such rush to get going and ensure that I had everything that I failed to fire up the GPS or check the exact time. I capture both for more accuracy on my trek back home this evening.

Yeah... I know it didn't fit for ITT, but inthetrenches.com was taken and held or ransom for $600 last time I checked. I was able to get the .net and .org, but let them go after a while as I didn't intend to use them.

I don't think I'll venture too far from IT even in my current role, there will always be some tech involved with what I do.

Wow! Just took a look at your site and boy do I feel like LESS than a rookie! I can't imagine riding those kind of miles that you mention in your blog -- amazing! For now, I'll be very content with my measly 14-15 mile jaunt in to work -- at least that's my goal for now. Some day I'll set a goal for a 100 mile trek.

Also... Nice to hear from someone from back home (or at least close) -- I'm originally from the Marysvill/Yuba City area.

Thanks Neal, I appreciate the kind words. I see what your saying, and I do agree. But I still feel that flowers are some of the easier things to shoot. 1) they typically are always beautiful and 2) they pose very nicely -- no need to worry about fidgeting or forced smiles.

But I certainly agree... you have to seek our different ways of capturing these things so as not to get lost in the crowd. Sure is nice working with such awesome colors though.

Wow... I truly didn't expect such an outpouring -- I am humbled.

Thank you all for your kind words. George and I had a blast doing the show and enjoyed getting to meet so many of you -- some in person, some by audio, and some by e-mail.

It's been a fun 3 years. I plan to keep the blog going in some capacity, if for nothing else, an outlet for the geeky IT stuff that I still love.

Thanks all for your comments. We are definitely going to call the Postal Inspector and report the incident. We have called the vendor and we were instructed to call back on Monday. So come Monday, several phone calls are going to be made, that's for sure.
