I felt the same as you from the start of this so called scandal. I honestly don't think that Rep. Jackson would have to bribe anyone to get the seat and I believe that he is smarter.

Gov BlahBlah made some of the dumbest remarks ever. It is as if he "knew" he was being taped. He never even tried to speak in code.
His shaky suggestion that he thinks that candidate #5 will help him raise money for a future campaign, means very little to me. And is that even considered bribery or is it a promise to be an ally if I get the job?
This seems as though it may be more about screwing the PE than it appears on the surface. As we all know, JJJ is one of PE oldest and dearest friends, groomsman and co-chair of for his campaign.

Clearly! I thought that I was the only one that was bothered by everyone referring to the President Elect of the United States, by his first name. I cannot recall the first or the last time I heard the current POTUS referred to as GEORGE!

Thank you for this post. I have been so bothered by this topic and I am glad that you started this conversation again. I am just scratching my head when I hear people especially those OVER 50 act as if most biracial people have not always self-identified as black. But, I guess you are right, they never thought that once they had a "choice" that most would chose to still be black or embrace their African heritage.

If they only knew how offensive it is for them to wonder why he calls himself black. Maybe some people like being black. I know that I love it!

The best part of this election has been seeing her on TV and in magazines. I feel lucky to have her as an inspiration. She is a professional, highly educated, loving mother and wife with a sassy sense of humor. Love her!!

I don't think there was doubt that he is human, but he has put up with a lot of bullish. I do think that a lot of people recognize that he is here to do something special and that he is a really special person. You know what I mean.

It is hard to not to feel for him. He has to bury his grandma in the same week that this great night is happening.
My great grandmom passed in 2003, when she was 103. We took her to Mississppi for Christmas in 2001and she stated that she never thought that she would see the day that she would go to Mississippi...and she was from GA! I can only image how amazed Hattie would be to see Sen Obama run for president. We should all be thankful to be here at this time.

I thought about Dr. Wirgt too. I know that Dr. Wright would be really good for them right now. But they have his prayers, of that I am sure.

And to answer your question, they think that black people that are proud of their african heritage, don't really worship the same GOD anyway. I am sure they think that we are all secret muslims anyway.

I agree and I think that was the authors point. The media, for all it's imprefections has aided in broadening the images that the world sees of African-Americans in this country and abroad.
