Kevin goes a great job explaining potentially complex concepts in approachable ways, and moving at a pace that allows you to process what you've learned and build that knowledge piece by piece. You've pegged the exact reason why I pulled out of blogging/twittering/etc. I woke up one day and realized it was all about me, and in the worst way. My daily attitude seemed to get all tied up in how many hits or comments or retweets I was getting—or rather usually not getting. I'm really much happier since I unplugged. I feel like I said everything I needed to say during those years anyway, and believe there are better voices (like you) advocating what I believe.

I do all my worship planning old school with paper and pencil. Even though I've got the knowledge and ability to do it all digitally (Google Docs, Planning Center Online, pdfs of every leadsheet, etc.) I just process everything more thoughtfully and prayerfully by doing it the old, slow way.

I've moved my to-do list back to notepad and pencil too. I was using Remember the Milk and Ta-Da List for a while, but having that piece of paper sitting right there on my desk all day/week seems to work much better for me.

Juvenile, I know. Sorry, couldn't resist.

No Santa at our house, pretty much for the same reasons already discussed here. I just don't want to risk telling my kids about Santa and Jesus, and then they find one of the two is not real. Especially when they see the world around them give more significance to the man in red than the Son of Man.
