We're betting on that with Capital Factory, where we're giving tech startups $20,000 in cash, $20,000 in free stuff, and 20 experienced mentors to help them launch new companies. We'll be announcing the 10 finalists tomorrow at http://www.capitalfactory.com/

When times are tough, there is less competition and lots of great talent available. And there is no where to go but up!

Re: Otherinbox Makes It Easier for Solopreneurs to deal with SPAM

Hi Jesse,

Thanks for asking about OtherInbox. First of all, we're still in beta so what you see now is just the beginning. It's going to be a lot more than what you see now. Stay tuned!

Second, there is a lot more to the benefit than just a catchall, and this is a lot easier to manage. For a full explanation, check out http://tinyurl.com/whynotgmail

We definitely do want to make this easier for people who don't want to deal with setting up their own domain and email or configuring rules and folders and labels. But there is also a LOT more to come!

Thanks again!

Re: OtherInbox | Software | Sociosophy

Hi Josh - That's what I've come to enjoy about you, your infectious happiness.
The great thing about minds is that they can always be changed. I am glad you are cavorting through our little blog to spread the OtherInbox joy, and I do look forward to eating my words. I will definitely be snooping around to review again as OtherInbox progresses.

While I never thought a single word like "bully" would be the centerpiece of my review, I'm forced to rethink my entire grade school life. Perhaps when Tommy threw that wad of Play-doh into my hair and stole my Boba Fett action figure, I was overreacting. Someday I'd like to move past what either of our definitions are of this objectionable word.

I'll stay on subject until we can put this ugliness aside, and I get a better thesaurus. A bad tweet will stand out more than a good tweet. When mankind stops focusing on the negative, we will all be very bored with no variety of reviews. Someday, I will stop believing that my GMail craps rainbows and I will look into other avenues of spam elimination.

In the meantime, I will be sure to look into being properly schooled in the standards of bullying.

Re: OtherInbox | Software | Sociosophy

I think George summed it up pretty well. This is definitely just the beginning, not a finished product. What we have now works great, but there is a lot more coming to add value on top of this foundation.

I also am not bothered at all by people who have questions about how it works or express doubts - that's to be expected with a new product that approaches things differently and challenges the status-quo. Some people are more polite than others, but that's life... :-)

If you look at search.twitter.com, there have been about 1,000 positive comments about about 20 that might fit into your "bullies" category. I feel pretty great about that!
