It seems to be the trend among German makers these days: Engineering by Marketing.

2 seconds on a track length of laguna seca is quite huge, though. And 2 seconds faster than the SENNA itself is quite impressive.

Totally agree with SSS here. The reason we mostly buy domestic cars is because it is cheaper and easier in almost every way. Cheaper to buy, cheaper to maintenance, and sooo much cheaper and easier to repair because almost all the components are domestic-made, so there’s almost no waiting for the parts to arrive because there is already too much lying around in the service-center.
So it’s almost a no-brainer for low-middle class to buy them(almost by force) if you think of costs and fuss in the long run.

And yes there are people who are loyal to domestic brands, but many people hate the brands because
a. (as SSS pointed out) there were many cases where US cars have higher-end quality components than the domestic car (such as thicker crash bar in the doors, more expensive steering rack for US cars, and etc), so customers were left with the feeling of betrayal.
b. Quality is a bit unpredictable for cars made in domestic factory because “union”
c. They many times just disregarded what the customers were saying

In short, many people are just buying them with no loyalty because it’s just cheaper

The leather stitching finish on the door in the last photo actually made me laugh in real life. Chinese cars reminds me of early 2000s Korean cars; might look plausible on the outside, but the more you dig in, the closer you look, the more disappointed you become, except that Chinese cars have much greater gap between them.

I just hate the fact that they’re calling a 496hp-EV a high performance model just because their ICE models are called one if they have the same power figure. You just know they are not upping the horsepower deliberately just because they are afraid their mid-size EV will be more powerful and faster than their best of ICEs(like the R8, RS6, and so on). Sort of like Porsche not giving full potential on Caymans and Boxters because they’re afraid they will be better than 911s.

Audi looks like a normal saloon next to that Lambo(especially with those awful blacked-out rims and flat-looking mundane blue color), whereas the Lambo just looks epic. Lambo in recent years nails facelifts(Murci LP640, Gallardo LP560, Aventador S), and the Evo I think, is no exception. Made the criticized pre-facelift Huracan a proper bedroom poster supercar.

I personally think LFA’s interior design is one of the greatest ever. It has so many interesting design factors(like the transforming gauge cluster, high center console finished in metal, delicious leather finishes, beautiful seats that looks like the finest Swedish furnitures, and those pedals...) Even after 8 years it doesn’t look half dated, it actually still looks futuristic.

I agree. They were looking their future too easy. You can see their optimism when you climb inside one of their cars; they definitely thought that using fancy leather would be enough to seduce buyers, and filled the rest of the interior with Chrysler products.
I think the biggest problem with Maserati is that their products don't feel like they are developed, built with much care and much thought for the customer, which again, is apparent in their interiors. And the luxury market is all about the little tiny details, in my opinion.

Plus they rely too much on their badge reputation, imagining that "Maserati" is way cooler to pronounce than Merc, BMW, Audi, etc. But these days when people hear someone drives Maseratis people think someone spent too much on a poorly built, badge snob car...
