I have registered on some on your list, but after an initial view I have not found one that suits all my needs...

I'm looking for a place where I can easily list my read books, books I own, books I want to read/buy etc . For the books I also want to add date read.
The books shall not only be categorizable as above, but also per topic (of my choice).
I also want to be able to publish various subset of my list (ie my wanted list, my recommendations in topic A etc)

Oh, and yes - a "social touch", plus a database of all books (ie incl. Swedish ones) are on my wish list..

Any hint on which book list service that might be best for me..?

Re: South African Facebook Demographics

Hi Justin,

sounds like an idea!

Looking into top level data is not that hard work, but if you'd like to do a deeper demographic breakdown for all countries a collective approach would definately help.

Drop me a line at johan [at] thekillerattitude . com

Regards
/Johan

Re: South African Facebook Demographics

Hi,

interesting to see a detailed breakdown for South Africa. A question, when you do the gender breakdown - do you take into account the "unspecified" genders?

Have a look at http://thekillerattitude.com/2008/02/facebook-s... for a global snapshot around the same period.

Also, if you are interested to compare SA to Sweden, I had a closer look at Sweden last year (http://thekillerattitude.com/2007/10/facebook-s...)

Regards
/Johan

Re: The design of social spaces

Nice approach.

I was part of a discussion a few weeks ago where the concept of "people centric" vs. "object centric" Social Networks were discussed.

That discussion lead towards the route that "as individuals tend to change/leave SoNets over time" an object centric (ie media centric) approach may be more sustainable (as object still have a value after the "poster" leave the network. People centric SoNets will mainly leave "dead nodes" behind.

I do agree with the statement in your post though, that people centric SoNets implies a higher degree of communication, thus creating a stickiness.

Hm, where's the golden balance...

Re: I Need Your Help

Jake,

posted a comment to your comment on my blog and notified you in a comment on your blog. 2.0-ish enough?

Short version. No, I don't have the slides. Found a similiar set of slides though. Jump to my blog for the link..

Re: I Need Your Help

My current "favourite" is the Freeconomics aspect. As a driver etc. for "Web 2.0".

Have a look at Chris Anderson's talk (link in this blog post: http://thekillerattitude.com/2008/01/freeconomi... ) - well spent 45 mins.

Good luck!

Re: Facebook Launches Extended Profile

Well, yes - I like the ability to keep the profile somewhat clean, and move things to the extended profile. Many profile pages start to look like MySpace (which I feel is more cluttered).

However, let's wait and see how adpoted and used this possibility will be by the majority of Facebook users. Some will definatley take the opportunity, but somehow I do not think all will..

(And I blogged on the same topic myself - http://thekillerattitude.com/2008/01/facebook-p... )

Re: Shout Out from Sweden

Thanks for the blogback - I finally got around to comment back.

I guess I have never had the need to look deeper at the Oracle product portfolio - I would probably known more if I had peeked around. On the other hand - how much do you know about the Ericsson product portfolio - without looking for it?

And when talking about impressions made by a web presence - it is educating to read you summary impression of me :-) It is all true, but gives an interesting insight on how I am (at least partly) perceived. As one example you use "The Killer App" as tag for me - while I'm really pushing the quote "There's *no* killer app - only a killer attitude"

Anyway - I'm looking forward to the first Working Group call tomorrow, even if the time was a bit bad I will try to call in.
