Intressant. Men ännu intressantare att artikeln nämner "digital" i olika former 7 gånger, men jag hittar ingen definition av begreppet.

Kan någon hjälpa mig att förstå vad "digital" betyder i detta sammanhang?

looking at the template it seems very "open-ended" - ie the template just adds columns, and I assume I can use any format of the columns?

Also, in the "nodes" tab of an excel - is it the header "name" or the "1st column, regardless of header" that decides which is the ID that will be used in the edges tab?

Nice! An obvious feature that will make it easy for us with existing network data to explore Polinode.

Question 1: I guess you can have more columns in the Excelsheets that teh three mentioned above? Any description of the possibilities of how to upoad other data about both the node and the edges?

Question 2: (On ther other side of the "complexity spectra" compared with the question above) - the simplest set of data that represent a networ is a simpel list of "source-target" pairs, ie not even udsing the nodes sheet in your example above - is that possible?

Geoff, not sure what your point really is..? For sure many of us spend much time "at work", both in an office and elsewhere. And there is no "one size fits all" in this area, both with regards to physical office space and work culture. Sure. But - what is your point here?

...I have also experienced the opposite, where issues raised on eg twitter or Facebook towards "official" company accounts have been left unanswered. In these cases a phone call, or a mail through the contact page on their site, have provided answers fairly fast (after my failure to get answer through social media).

The issue for me as consumer is that it's getting harder to know which channel is most efficient to reach a specific company - I often end up submitting the same request through all available channels, not very efficient for me or them...

Sure, companies are maturing. But slowly...

För +1 är nog knäckfrågan hur många "out there" som verkligen har en Google-profil. Även om relativt många kanske har ett gmailkonto behövs ju "lite mer" (åtminstone än så länge), och jag tror inte att antalet personer "som surfar inloggade på google" är fler än "antalet som surfar inloggade på Facebook" - vad tror du?

(Och väntar med spänning på +1-knappen för webbsidor...)

(Sorry -a 3 years old reference, time flies, but anyway...)

And indeed Kristofer - an interesting flaw, will have a look at my old numbers to see if teh same isse is there (but I don't think so, at least not at this level)

I am pretty sure that the FB ads numbers shows "number of accounts active last 30 days" - I have seen a number of references that indicates this (even from FB).

Seems like the FB usage is flattish, might never get to the point where I write a 5 million overview...

Hej,

har själv tittat på lite Facebookstatistik sedan en tid. Kika gärna på http://thekillerattitude.co... för senaste sifforna för Sverige (eller http://thekillerattitude.co... för samtliga inlägg för både Sverige och globalt).

Vad FB egentligen menar med "aktiv användare" när man kikar i deras annonseringsverktyg är inte tydligt, men min gissning baserat på vad jag uppfattar är att det enbart är konton som varit påloggade senaste månaden som räknas.

(Hittade just din sajt då jag ramlade in på inlägget "Vad finns på andra sidan jorden?")

Japp - Facebookstatistik är kul, och FB kan mannog säga är "mainstream" nu.

Det är intressant att följa tillväxten bland de äldre - kommer de också sugas in Facebook (eller dess uppföljare), kommer de att användanågot annat socialt nätverk eller kommer de inte använda något socialt nätverk alls?

Själv har jag noterat att mina 60+ släktingar (ålder alltså..) använder geni.com lite Facebookaktigt.

Samma åldersgrupp i Sverige (eller mer exakt 55-64) har gått upp från 1600 kvinnor (31:a oktober 2007) til 17580 (8:e mars 2009) - mer än en faktor 10 (OK, ett längre intervall, men ändå...)

I think the 1st comment from CC Chapman is on spot.

There's too many opinions on how to best use Twitter fro broadcasting on one hand, and for listening on the other. And in the middle is the conversation aspect.

Having said that, I can't give you an advice on hwo you should Twitter. But I can state how I use Twitter in a "listening" mode...

I follow just below 150 twitters right now. And yes, if one of these "twitter too frequent" it *will* cludge up the stream.
That may be OK though, if it's interesting stuf to some extent.

I dip into the "main" stream of tweets with an eye now and then, using both the twitter web i/f and feeding the feed into my reader. Regulary quickly browse through too see whats up.

Also of importance around my usage is how I select a number of Twitters to also get as SMS.

(as there's currently a weekly ration of 250 SMS from twitter for me, that factor also come into play when doing the selection)

As SMS I choose a mixture of interesting and personal twitter friends, but can not afford to have to frequent Twitters here.

As summary - Tweet on, but I'd personally have a better mindset for diving ito the pointers when reading your blog, so use the blog also to broadcast interesting links etc

sounds like an idea!

Looking into top level data is not that hard work, but if you'd like to do a deeper demographic breakdown for all countries a collective approach would definately help.
