The iPhone has several barcode scanners though I haven't tried them all.
The one that I've enjoyed using with is Red Laser. I haven't located one in the Android Marketplace yet. What's it called?

I brought them to Pubcon and I'm doing it right now as I look out on the strip.

It does take getting used to for sure.

I also find lots of little things that I love about it (since I didn't read the manual, these are as I discover them.) For example, there's a little green blinking light that tells you that there's a notification (email, tweet, chat, etc.)

Cool stuff.

My personal preference is this:
for mobile video shooting or when I'm out with the family, I use my flip.

If I'm recording video for a product, I use my tape-based Sony camcorder (with all the "prosumer" attachments).

I haven't look at other things closely. Guess the bulk of my disposable income goes into my computer?

Agreed - it doesn't have to be in front of a group - the skills translate to the phone, videos, podcasts, meeting people, etc.

I don't think you were controversial. You just brought this article to my attention.

Have you seen people use URL shorteners on sites/blogs? I can't imagine the use for that as the analytics that you can get from your site (via onsite tool or third party script) can offer you that data.

URL shorteners do break the internet a bit which is why I think they're fantastic for shorter-lived shorter-breadth online communicating (Twitter, Facebook, IM, etc) and don't make a whole lot of sense for, like you pointed out, blogs and websites.

Yeah, agreed there. I do think we'll see more folks blogging as things such as state tax laws continue to change the affiliate landscape, though.
