I am in the toy business and you are right that it is a horrible problem. One note on the published list. They only note the importer. Not who is selling the toxic toys. Many of the importers, who are solely responsible for the safety of the toys are in fact retail chains disguised using their import divisions business name. Check it out. This race was second in importance only to Obama/McCain for me. I find Coleman to be an extraordinary horse's ass and really really hope Franken wins.

I have been in this business for 25 years. Even going back as far as having the toys made in Japan.

And it's bad. Quite bad. And good factories are closing up. Guys who have been in business for decades.

We just switched to Red Gold ketchup. It's a local company and just as good if not better.

Actually just bought a 7 lb. 3 oz. can at Sam's Club for $2.67. Pretty sweet deal. (think Kramer's Beefaroni buy on Seinfeld)

And I think Kroger has a loser with the ready-to eat -meals. No value.

Oh, and the Mom and Pop restaurants in central Indiana are doing well. I believe folks are trading down from the Outback Inc. times. No booze and a much shorter drive.

Plenty of nuts in my mini woods in central Indiana. Though the pin oaks didn't produce the burr oaks, buckeye's, and hickory's did.

And plenty of squirrels too and hate to tell but I shoot them. They can and do do a lot of damage.

I am in this business and it has affected things a lot.

For only the second time I agree with the Bush administration. (1st time was expanding daylight savings time)

And I really hadn't thought about but I was inspired to go see Obama in Indianapolis. Something I had never done before. And most important took my 15 year son to the historic event.

2) Yes. The interstate highway system comes to mind. Private corruption? Government corruption? Both of them are rampant. The only difference is the government corruption can be voted out of office. Private corruption...we're stuck with.
