This is why I made a new post as you probably saw in the opening line. I thought about this some more, and obviously not everyone can have their name. So I think you are on the right track, make a new one, or some variation of yours.

I'm lucky in that the other 7 or so Jeremy Vaughts that I'm aware of are clearly not too quick to pick up new Social Media platforms. But then again, how can they compete with jeremyvaught.com/.net/.org/.tv. :)

Re: Thesis Ups Its Game With New Design Options

Oh? This is interesting. I've been using Wordpress since b2evolution and was thinking of dabbling with Expression Engine. But your post puts a serious dent in that. :)

Thanks for the WP encouragement, Jon.

Re: say my name, say my name

This isn't a story, so my apologies about that. This is just what I do because I'm bad with names as well, but like you say, they are powerful.

So to emphasize how bad I am about this, what I do without thinking about it, is I'll hear someone's name, and literally moments later want to use their name, and I can't for the life of me remember. I realized I was just not focusing on retaining that information. So now, I focus on retaining that information. When they say their name, I think, "ooooh, their name, remember that." And then I'll say it in my mind now and then while we talk. I try to use it out loud before they depart. And I always practice on my food servers, this keeps me in practice, and gets me better service. win/win!

Re: Where does innovative thinking take place?

Nice! I had a Canon Powershot I used and loved until I accidentally left it in my pants in the wash. So I thought I would upgrade to a Sanyo Xacti. It's a better video camera, but the net result is MUCH less video AND pictures. I need another Powershot.

Thanks for reminding me to look into that again.

Re: How to Blog Almost Every Day

This applies to #2. About a year ago I quit listening to the radio in the car. And I am always amazed how my mind starts to really focus on things that I don't otherwise think about while doing other things. But I think that's it, I'm doing other things. In the car, not so much.

And it doesn't need to be waterproof, but I always have to keep my pad of paper ready. I used to use Jott.com before they started charging... actually, now that I say that, I should go back and investigate if it's worth paying. Calling is less accident prone.

Re: How to Blog Almost Every Day

I'm printing this list off and putting it above my desk. Yes, I do realize you are continuing to build. You are doing a great job. And if I said I thought of it first, I misspoke. I meant that I thought of it a while ago, have been thinking about building it, and now I'm working on building what I've been thinking about. I also doubt I'm the very first the think of the idea. I just thought of it before I found Topify. But finding you inspired me to start mine. :) Thanks for the inspiration. :D

And I'm all about the incremental improvements. That's what I plan to do as well. I worked with your fellow Frenchman, Loic Le Meur, at Seesmic for over a year, and I have adopted his style of building an app by getting a little core out there, and building from there. I think you guys are doing the same thing.

Finally, I only bring up Topify because you are getting a lot of press right now. I'm using it, as you pointed out, and the value I get from it is great. A large part of this is an experiment for me as I've never written my own web app before. So I'm learning a lot in this process.

Thanks again for your comment! Perhaps we'll meet at a Twitter app conference one day, there is enough applications out there now to host it's own conference. :)

Jeremy

Re: Mashable on Tumblr - Jon Stewart Shakes His Fist at Twitter

Partly, because that's where my friends are. My roughly $20 a year gives me huge value. I have about 2,500 pictures there, tagged, grouped, and awesome. I know of nothing free that compares outside of hosting it myself, and that costs a lot more than $20 a year.

Re: Flickr Opens Up Video Uploads for Everyone

Flickr is for pictures. That's what I use it for. I've uploaded a couple of videos, but it's more an afterthought than an intention. But I still post all of my pictures to Flickr.

Go with what you know, and Flickr knows photos. Having said that, I also like the clock idea, and am looking to see how things will develop with that tool and the community.

Re: Desi Auntie wanted: Casting Call

I'm not Indian, neither dots nor feathers, and I'm no auntie, but I'll sign myself up. I bet I could do it. ;)

So do tell Sukhjit. What were you in a commercial for and when was this? And I can understand if you don't want to say you were in a STD commercial or something like that. lol

And on that note, why don't YOU play the role of an Indian auntie. A little Hollywood magic to make you look older. You already play the Indian part well.

Re: Unboxing: My Mimobot Valentine

Oh my, offer a treat and get repliers coming out of the woodwork. :)

(also Sukhjit, no video in the rss if you put it there.)

Re: Startup Weekend Opens Up

Good call, Andrew. I read 2 or three pages of their tweets. If they have even one interesting post that provided me value, I will follow them back. That being said, I also periodically go back through who I am following, and if I can't dm them, they are not following me. If I still value them by name at that point, I continue to follow, otherwise, I drop 'em.

What get's me is that some people, I have received probably 3 or 4 emails to follow them, they are clearly following and dropping only later to follow again. Drives me nuts.

Re: Visiting Amritsar and Celebrating a Birthday

I LOVE your laugh at the end. I have done 8 sprint triathlons and also hope to do a couple more this year. One day I want to do an Ironman, but not right now. So as a big guy that has done 8 tris, and a half marathon (first full later this year) you really should take a day off a week. You said yourself you should, and you should. You also said you need to stay healthy for this to work, and those two thing are competing against each other. I'm also a big guy (I ran my 1/2 marathon at 235lbs in 2 hrs. 22 seconds), which means we need to take good care of ourselves or the injuries could be compounded.

I solute you for your efforts. I too am revamping my exercise plan.

See you (in shape) soon!
Jeremy

Re: 5 Free Crowdsourcing and Web 2.0 Tools for Small Business.

Love the NASA story!
