In that sense the divorce rate is about the same. As Pastor Mike mentioned in the marriage sermon a few weeks ago though, among Christians who attend and participate in their church regularly, that rate is MUCH lower.

#8: we create huge divisions within the Church [Christians as a whole] by arguing about minor theological doctrines such as creation and baptism and women in leadership. This leads to setting a bad example for those people who don't yet know Christ. It's so sad.

Re: Praying For a Bailout.

Amen. God's Kingdom and will isn't as black and white as I once thought it to be. God works in ways so much bigger that our minds can understand. Do I believe God can work through the government to help people? Absolutely. My own personal thoughts parallel with yours Justin, but I will not put God in a box. I've done that too many times before with very negative and judgmental results.

Re: Careful, This May Blow Your Mind

This is incredible..

I saw this video a couple years ago, and I was thinking just last night about how I wanted to find it again and post it on my blog. I searched YouTube and couldn't remember the name of it for the life of me.. So I abandoned my hope of finding this video every again.

God does have a sense of humor. :-)

Re: Are You Having An Affiar?

totally agree.. to pass judgment on them is not our place, but Christ's. Our job is to just love like crazy.

Re: Are You Having An Affiar?

I personally know the effects of an affair, and it destroys more than just the people in them, but entire families.. Be smart and think about the other people affected.

As for approaching this 'couple', I think that's dangerous territory. Even though your assumptions may be educated, they're still assumptions. However, you are the pastor, not me. :-)

Re: “Christians Are the Worst Tippers Ever.”

As a college student, I usually tip 15%, which I find to more than the standard within my age group. If the service is great, It'll be up to 30%. Also though, i like to write a little note on the receipt. I just say thank you, and I appreciate your service here and I end with a little smiley face. I don't mention God or leave a tract, I just try to brighten their day a little bit. It makes me sad that Christians are the worst tippers, but I absolutely believe it.. I've been a part of that culture before and it's also people's attitudes that say after church on Sunday they just emptied their pockets into the offering so they're maybe even subconsciously stingier than usual. I don't know though, I certainly dont want to justify it by any means.
