It's all their tech. A tie in to ecolelect http://www.ecolect.net/ would be interesting too. A good site w/ many eco-materials w/ some reviews. this could help with my company's plans to provide 'green' bids along side all other bids. we'll see

Re: MAc Addict Alert! Jeff Mowrey used some spiral sweeps, intersecting 3D sketches and compound curves to make the final sweep taper. There's, as is usual with SolidWorks, several ways to create it.

I work with the typical stuff a lot too, but I started seeing how surfacing and some of the other less used features, could help with what I was working on. I found surfacing can make some sheet metal operation easier. Mixing things up can bring about some great results. Try it out!

Re: How the Heck Is This Made? Nothing like a good competition to motivate you to get on solidworks and cook up a great design. check out design taxi for a decent list of competitions for a variety of disciplines. http://www.designtaxi.com/competitions.jsp
do this over the summer or when your workload is light.

Re: PhotoView 360: The New SolidWorks Rendering Machine Now Available

this looks like a good move. now if theres any other mac / iMovie users out there (didn't think so) you'll see the similarity. the latest generation of iMovie was a total redesign, great UI and much cleaner looking, and fast, but lacked the deeper skill set of the predecessor, and so the imovie enthusiasts complained. so apple made both versions available, the predecessor as well as the latest version. this will probably happen until the next version of imove comes out where we see the missed skill set in the new package.
-that i hope is what will happen here. if solidworks wants to ease the transition they may want to consider offering both rendering programs and then maybe by SW 2010 complete the transition.

Re: Ask the Reader: How Do You Model?
