As an American living in the UK, I have friends who've been offered jobs in the US but have yet to get a visa. They mostly want to come to the US for the hype of living the American dream but they realize they probably wouldn't make as much and certainly get less vacation than staying in Europe. The US companies want them not because they are cheap but because they have a better education/experience than currently offered by US schools.
