Is it weird that my Avatar isn't displaying on the main forum page, but does inside this thread? And when I see the button below "Post as mikeo75", it just has a non-specific avatar next to it.

I think I mostly care about the Avatar stuff because we just had everyone move to Gravatars on our site and I'd like this switch to be seamless for them in that regard.

I haven't set one yet...I wanted to make sure our readers would automatically have their avatars imported.

Pretty cool man. I'm testing the email commenting method right now. Will be
helpful with my phone when I'm on the road.

No, I haven't, but like I said, it's mainly because I wanted to test it all
out before putting it on our site, and I'd like to make the transition as
painless as possible for our users.

If they can sign up, and just go back to our site and start commenting, with
their avatars already set because of Gravatar, then we're golden!

If they have to add new ones...they it's an extra step for them.

Yeah, ID was a bit more intrusive looking...this isn't too bad. And I love the threaded commenting style.

Also great that no one really has to mess with their avatars :)

Yeah, that's the next step...they have some nice widgets to use, and I think I'll set up an entire page dedicated to recent comments, which might be nice. I've always wanted a place to list like the last 50 comments, and Wordpress didn't make that easy to do AT ALL.

Gotcha...just saw you set up a page here, figured you were trying it.

Good idea though. The downside is they have no import from Wordpress feature yet, but the good thing is that you can export all your comments so that you don't lose anything in the test.

Here is the Comments page...kind of cool using their 3-tabbed widget...you can see top commenters, popular and recent.

Well, I see your avatar here, might take you a second.

Also, it's counting your comments, but it seems like it takes 10 minutes or so to update the Recent Comments widget, which you referred to.

I already posted a thread on their forums asking about this.

Okay, I reduced nesting down to like 6 levels, to prevent the weird word wrapping thing.

Yeah, definitely could do something like that...although I do like three columns. We could always shrink things up a bit, create like 20 more pixels wide or something.
