I started to comment here and ended up writing a post instead. I thought it would trackback to here. But I don't see it.

Re: Pardon Our Dust, We’re in the Cloud

After logging into Disqus, it returns me to the comments and asks me to "Register with DISQUS". Unfortunately, API connections seemed to fail before the schedule start of maintenance; that caused some scheduled tweets for my client to stall, then bulk publish when Twitter came back up.

Interestingly, I popped over to FriendFeed to see what people were sharing Friday and they were down as well. Not a good day for micropublishing.

Re: Advertising and Trust

Bravo, Chris. People will always have something negative to say about how you run your life and business. You handled the sponsored gig in the best way possible. Sure, in a perfect world, we all could do what we loved without caring about money. But as you stated "Someone always pays for the meal."

Re: Google Gets Pimped and Why You Should Care

The themes in GMail are "neat", I suppose. But that's not why I use GMail. I'd be much more impressed if Google were to do something with Jaiku and GrandCentral. There haven't been updates on either one of those projects in ages. I wish Google would quit acquiring services if they're not committed to developing them.

Re: Guest Post- How to Keep Your Conversations From Turning Into Broadcasts

Thanks for this post. This is exactly what I've been trying to communicate at social meetups. There are quite a few marketers, consultants and "experts" who are taking the broadcast/advertising route without really engaging their audience.

Re: The Dead Mail Department

Once you are dead, you really don't know if the emails are going out. So you would have to use a service that will stay around long enough. Or if someone writes an app that automatically sends it out for you.

Imagine the trail of "you did this..." and the "i always loved you, sorry for not showing it" emails.

could be interesting.

Re: The Dead Mail Department

Ha! I'm surprised this doesn't already exist, to be honest. Also, I'm thinking we'd each need some sort of email executor to carry out our wishes. You know, with us being dead and all.

Re: Kind Kisses: Friends with Benefits

I run into this conundrum a lot. Ultimately, I want a steady guy. But it takes a lot of patience and weeding through the knuckleheads just to get someone who knows what they want AND can communicate it.

So I resort to the fuck buddy situation. But I haven't been hugely successful at it. I often find the other dude (after about 2-3 sex sessions) acting like we're more than just bumping uglies. Frustrating!

As soon as I see signs of it, I cut them off. Although, some of them still have vague Fatal Attraction tendencies. I admire people who can walk that tightrope indefinitely.

Re: Who Needs the Clintons?

I'm not surprised by the awkwardness. Both candidates wanted to win. But Clinton expected to get the Democratic nomination. She has to be a bit salty about losing to someone who (in her opinion and many other voters) isn't completely qualified to be President.

I believe there are a lot of things Obama could learn from the Clintons (disregarding that much political experience is foolish). However, mending the rift and gaining support amongst voter populations Obama hasn't sufficiently penetrated is paramount if he hopes to defeat McClain.

Re: QOTD: Usher Says...

I agree with Camille; sounds like some mess to me. And really, Usher should know better. I'm tired of the "man-stands-by-his obligation" stance as well. How romantic is that? So people should marry people out of obligation? No wonder divorce is so high.

Re: Sing Along / 7 Songs Meme

Funny how a lot of us have a N*E*R*D track on our list. The biggest gotcha is I constantly discover "scandalous" information about the very people who judge me.

People sit on so many secrets that I think there is some jealousy when they find others who don't feel like they have to hide their complexities.

There isn't anything wrong with you. You're an open-minded, go-getter who isn't afraid to share the truth about your life. I'd love to clone you.

Re: How Funky Brown Chick Got Her Groove Back

Ha ha.
