Many of the stakeholders that benefitted from publicly-funded bailouts a few years ago aren't happy about the possibility their 'high-yield' A- MBS pools are about to be paid off.

I think an attempt to censor/silence manifested when Lones, weary from the after-effects of an over-emotional group whipping the rhetoric into a frenzy revealed how she felt. She felt bullied. And as you have eloquently pointed out, that term was incorrect.

BTW, I'm currently boycotting a coffee shop in Chicago that won't offer free or discounted refills during the same visit with the same cup. WTF, right??

Does this mean I'm an ill-tempered sociopath? Your diagnosis would be appreciated.

Camera makes the device compelling. The situation is very comparable to iPhone 1stGen vs. iPhone 3G. Hopefully SD slot, longer battery life, higher resolution screen all make the cut. I'm eagerly waiting for Rd. 2.

You are right, the big question is will people abandon their other web mail clients for this one? I don't see it. For me, it doesn't matter if email is professional or personal, I want it all going through one hose and from there I want total freedom to move it to any device. I also want total freedom to use that data in third party apps that enhance or ease my communication efforts.

If/when FB officially opens up and allows users to export their data, their friends data, & the social graph that maps it all together, it's likely google will have a killer extraction plugin built quickly to stave off the assault on gmail and the other web properties they have cultivated. FB has benefited from Google's openness. Thus far there hasn't been reciprocity. A war?

Can Facebook handle 100 billion non-spam messages (200 emails x 500 million accounts) a day? And if spam makes up 80%-90% of the email traffic on the web, can they handle 1 trillion emails hitting their servers every day. I don't know. I think they have a tough argument to make.

It's intriguing but I'm not ready to hand Facebook the keys to my Inbox. Let's see how Facebook handles basic email functionality first. I need to be convinced that Facebook has the resources to handle this project.

Plus there is the data portability issue. It's easier to imagine plugins like Rapportive being developed in a Gmail environment. I suspect Facebook will stumble.

Interesting debate. Paid lender advertising placed next to content created from the efforts of a volunteer mortgage originator network isn't a prudent long-term strategy.

While those originators do indeed have a dog in the hunt, there is also an understandable resentment nurtured in those that lack deep pockets.

The instant a more 'valuable' model emerges those disenfranchised with Zillow will bolt.

The question remains how valuable is the ZMM to a mortgage originator? I haven't seen much evidence that supports ZMM is producing consistent success for those that participate. Anyone else?

BTW, what is the big deal with moving lender paid advertising into a different area of the site?

Thanks for changing the word broker to originator. It's a subtle difference but more accurate. All originators, both banker and broker, must shoulder the burden when discussing their role in the mortgage crisis.

The banks like to intimate to consumers and the media that they are 'less' to blame. Not true. Keep up the good work.
