The judge didn't dismiss the purchase as a stunt. He literally said that he agreed the bidding process was ended too quickly because it could have raised more money for the beneficiaries.

This whole article is preposterous. 1. It is doctors who are making decisions and those decisions are based on what is best for the child 2. No parent has an absolute right to do anything they want with another person, i.e. a child 3. The government has no involvement 4. This case has been to multiple courts who have all made the same judgement 4. The Vatican hospital is not offering a cure, just palliative care, which is what is being given in the UK 5. Nobody wants the child to die, nobody is killing the child 6. If the child was in the US without health insurance it would be long dead, in the UK no matter what it is still alive 7. The family are being used by an extremist Christian organisation to further their own agenda 8. Politicising a tragedy is horrible.

And the figures which were all phony last year are now fundamentally accurate. You have got to be joking. Give it six months and then claim some credit based on actual actions.

Referencing early REM only works if you know the musical history of REM, whereas explaining what you mean allows the casual reader to understand the point. It is what it is, all the rest is balderdash.

Rather than just making things up, how about pointing to some evidence. Sure, Transjordan was split off, but this 'Homeland for the Jewish People' in the rest of Palestine - that's a fantasy.'It legally belonged to Israel' - I don't think even Israel claims that. The world and legal opinion has Israel as the occupier in the West Bank. Israel expelled the Arab population from much of Israel and would never allow them to return. Israel now continues to build settlements outwith international law (and all logic). I accept that it was Britain that was the original transgressor in the Mandate by refusing to allow self-rule as per the terms of the Mandate. Basically, Britain chickened out of the Mandate and the world decided to give half of the Palestinian territory away without a process of decolonisation. It's of course far too late to rewind that history, but Israel should draw back its ambition and allow a Palestinian state to be built and idiots like you who claim that the entire Mandate really belongs to Israel should be ashamed of yourselves.

I like that your view of history and territory doesn't seem to accord with that of any other international observer. You reference several bits of different things to build a case, but it is built on dust. It is a construct of bullshit. If you're so keen to adhere to historical events, how about we go back to 1947 and the prposed borders of Israel and Palestine? I know Zionists have always wanted to claim every bit of historic Palestine were it not for the tricky point that millions of locals lived there who they do not want, but that doesn't give you a right to seize the whole thing.

A road that is only allowed for use by someone from the neighbouring country, the country that controls your land, is an apartheid road. It exists only to benefit a different nationality. Can't see how you can get confused by that. If there were roads in Israel that were only for the use of Cypriots I think Israelis would rightly get in a lather about it.

But 'state land' in Palestine is a different kettle of fish in that it's used to keep the indigenous population off their own state lands. (I won't even go into how all the land in Israel was acquired).

I was at Sha’ar Ha’amakim in 1979. I arrived in Israel on the day the Israel-Egypt peace treaty was signed. I wouldn't go back now, I know too much about how the country came to be and about the post 1967 settlements. But I had a good time with good people on the kibbutz. I was 17.
