Aside from Twitter lacking an obvious business model, Facebook simply has a deeper stake in the ground and a better idea of where it's headed as an organization. I think that while Twitter tries (admirably) to deal with hockey-stick-shaped growth, Facebook knows the value of the information that it has and is looking to capitalize. The nefariousness of such ideas is definitely open to debate, but you can't say they don't have a plan.

As for Yahoo and Microsoft, that (in my opinion) is the story of two companies that, relative to their competition, have stagnated in terms of innovation and are trying to dull the pain by increasing the sheer number of eyeballs that see their logos. There's a reason that "Google" is an accepted verb in the Oxford Dictionary and "Yahoo" isn't.

Well, if you think that 10-12 notebooks (which primarily exist to make
searching easier) is "too many", then I'd cordially invite you to poke
around the tubes a little bit and check out some of the folks with more than
a hundred notebooks. That's what I'm talking about and, for the record, the
post title is "How I Use Evernote", not "How You Should Use Evernote" - so
I'm not preaching anything, big fella.

Well, I'm usually a little unsure of The One True Way when it comes to
technology. There are almost always multiple ways to solve a problem, and
HTML tables make certain things very, very easy. I'll definitely use them
in the right situation, but I won't use them just to spite the CSS purists
:)

Well, the Dropbox choice was based primarily on the fact that Evernote's
iphone application is pretty much worthless for anything other than taking
notes (searching/organizing are both prohibitively slow). If that weren't
the case, then you'd be right :)

I will freely admit that I add things to Evernote a lot more often than I retrieve them. Mostly, I approach it like this: I've got 500mb of storage per month, so I'm going to add everything I could ever possibly need (or want) again.

Hardly the kind of attitude befitting a productivity nerd, but that's my "workflow", as it were :)

When it does come time to find something, I trust the search. It's never let me down so far.

You should really try Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale (if you haven't already). It's the one winter ale that I literally spend the rest of the year waiting for. It's fantastic.

Also, I've never been a huge fan of the Anchor winter offerings, either. Generally, I find them to be malt-heavy and overly sweet (I'm a complete hop-head, by the way!)

Path Finder is freaking wonderful. If you spend any amount of time with the stock Finder, you know what a steaming heap it is. This makes file management (and a pantload of other things) a breeze. Do eeet!

But if the follow/unfollow sequence happened quickly enough (which I imagine
it does, probably within a couple of minutes), then qwitter probably
wouldn't pick up on it. I say that not really knowing how qwitter works
under the hood, but I know the API doesn't expose any notification
functionality in the event of a new follow/unfollow.
