I was present at one given by Adam Hart  Davies a few years ago.  theme for the evening was as far as my memory goes that happiness can be found in Scientific discovery. Which isn't surprising&lt;br&gt;considering his background. Maybe that would have corresponded more with Andy's world view as depicted above. Although I do think being scienfific about poetry is indeed unscientific..&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I don't see sponsoring a lecture on happiness as being unpractical. After all isn't it one of the main aims of our existence whether concious or unconcious to be happy. If Iam not mistaken haven't economists attempted to measure happinsess as another way of  evaluating whether a society is sucessful or not as well as things like productivity and other economic factors.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;                            &lt;/p&gt;</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">ianmcd</dc:creator><pubDate>Sat, 05 Jul 2008 18:46:44 -0000</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
