They always came back, though.

While our house was only fifty or so feet from a main road, none of the dogs ever got hit -- well, not on the road, anyway. My dad did once accidentally nip one of the dogs in the driveway, but it wasn't serious.

The cats, on the other hand, would disappear for days sometimes, but I guess outdoor cats tend to be that way.

Re: virtual street poetry

i'm glad you like it!

maybe i shouldn't tell you this, but you were only the second person to order one, so there wasn't much of a line in front of you.

Re: virtual street poetry

thanks, PJ.
incidentally, I've already written haiku for both sorts of occasions, long
before this idea cropped up in my mind -- but I'd be happy to do some more
:)

Re: secondhand haiku: far beyond frail

PJ - Yeah, the music's kind of catchy.

Al - I actually sent a few invites out to musicians I've come into contact with. I think it's absolutely impossible to undo without putting aside partisan thinking. By that, I mean considering even the idea that bi-partisan is just as bad as partisan.

A lot of good ideas get shut out by both parties simultaneously, and too many Americans get fooled into buying the concept that there are only two legitimate ways to think about policy.

Oh, and thanks :)

Re: secondhand haiku: Haiku for Sally

Yeah, come on, Al...

Re: secondhand haiku: Haiku for Sally

oh, come on, Al. don't let it scare you too much. everyone has at least a little poetry in them ;)

Re: to, not from

thanks -- while I wrote this geared to the idea of running to being better than running from, it has occurred to me that running away can sometimes be a worthy effort unto itself. which makes me think i should try writing something about that too

Re: secondhand haiku: Haiku for Sally

Shannon - yes indeed.

B - you're welcome. it is my privilege to play host to your haiku

Re: secondhand haiku: summer breeze

you ought to try one yourself, Al.
