commenting, writing, and constantly trying to check myself in the process. this autodidactism that is web journalism and opinion commentary is a necessary response to the media establishment, but we must also realize that we are the new "establishment," and facing the same dangers that many of the new form decry - tired old orthodoxies and race-based, class-based hierarchies that drive media. so, yeah, i'll take it when you check me, too. bring heat when you do it, cause I'm ready.
