You were one of the fortunate ones who had Denis Thompson and Janet Pampinella. Great teachers. Enjoy what you are doing. Remember...open invite to visit us in Boynton Beach. Best always, Steve Waldman

Re: mediabistro.com: GalleyCat

I hope you got my rather lengthy reply. I will write Barbara and let her know I contacted you. All my best, Steve Waldman

Re: mediabistro.com: GalleyCat

I am thrilled to hear from you. My wife and I saw Barbara and Eric in Palm Beach. They were great. I hope to have the two of them over for dinner when they are next here. I sort of feel guilty that you didn't get a better grade from me on your essays since you undoubtedly are a great writer. I did read your article about Ms. La Penna and planned to write you, but didn't know how to do it. I am honored that you are kind enough to write me back. Of course, I will buy your book. I heard about it on NPR in your interview. I remember you with great affection. I retired in 1997 and moved to Boynton Beach, Fl. We have two children, Sandy, who lives in Fairfax, Va and is the Asst. Controller for PBS....and most importantly has two children..Ethan and Jake...3 and 1 yr old respectively. My son, Craig, lives in San Francisco and is an antitrust attorney....and father to Sam who is 7 months old. My wife works for the South Palm Beach Jewish Federation and I work at an after school program for k-5th graders. Additionally, I am Chair of the City of Boynton Beach's Education and Youth Advisory Board and serve on the Children's Museum and Learning Center Board. Also, I am on the Palm Beach School District's Advisory Boundary Committee and on a couple of other committees. Finally, I volunteer at Boynton Beach H.S. and have taught a few classes in history. I would love to hear from you if you have some time to drop me a line. If you get here to my part of Florida you are welcome to come for dinner. My email you now have....my phone number is 561-369-5553 at home. Cel phone is 715-9778. Funny thing....when I was volunteering at Boynton High I met a teacher who, it turned out, was in my class in the 10th grade in 1976. We recently played some golf together. I does give me such joy to re-connect. All my best and please keep in touch.
