Haha! Well that's very sweet of you to say. I'm just getting ready to go
to JFK, and although I'll be glad to get home tonight, it's always sad

I agree with this, and I think it's a great jumping-off point for pondering the relative value of behavior versus intellection; being "right" is a function of argumentation, evaluation, logic, perhaps principles; being kind is a function of one's acts. That acts are more important than abstract arguments tells us much about the problems of ideology, politics, systematic governance, and more.

Oh yes, I was quite the Internet savant at a young age. So funny that you were on eWorld too! I ended up working for Talk City, which was the IRC network that a bunch of ex-eWorld people began after its demise. I was like 12 years old and moderating chats. The funny thing is that I had to comply with Child Labor Laws, so I could only "work" a certain number of hours per week!

Great comment, Court. I haven't read the book yet but am looking forward to it - and won't be surprised if it does read fiction-like. Anyway, totally agree that the Sampras comment was completely unsurprising. Did you watch the 60 Minutes? I hate Katie Couric, so it was nearly unwatchable, but the worst part was him playing tennis with Graf and calling her "baby" over and over. Gross!

I'm glad! I should add that in listening to it more and more, I've come to feel that it's really totally awesome. I listen to it while driving now, and while at work, as well as when I feel like dedicating attention to it. It's very good!

I am sure the actors are all quite good; I like Aaron Eckhart a lot, and have for years! But good actors can't help a bad script, and this script is bad.

I support bad movies being made in Louisiana if it brings us money, of course, and bad movies often do very well commercially. But none of that stops them from being bad!

I'd say we'll have to wait and see, but I would be surprised if I could muster the will to see it at the theater, even though it's shot partially near my mansion. I guess I'll have to to resolve this dispute!

I have a friend who went to marriage counseling after a game of settlers. I told Lyndsay we could never play (and yes, we own it and the expansions... we just never play together).

We're currently rather fond of Pandemic. It's fun with two players (extremely difficult with 4 players, requiring absolute cooperation).

I should mention, we own a lot of games.

Couple thoughts: Kudos to the TSA that somebody over there is social media
savvy enough to catch this meme and thought to respond to it. However, I
think they missed the point somewhat. The reason why the comic is funny
isn't batteries vs water; what's funny is the concept of drawing attention
to something else with dangerous potential in an effort to reason logically
with a TSA employee...
