I agree it is a very tall order to make someone sound like someone else, but I guess certain guitar/amp/pedals can get you in the ballpark which satisfies most people.

Mine just worked as per any other VST plugin, just make sure you have the track armed to record, the correct input selected from your audio interface and set the monitoring switch to on aside from that I think you'll need to post on the reaper forum?

It's worth a try, you could always try putting it after too and see which sounds most realistic

This is a nice idea however I can't help thinking it would have been better to build this into a more robust multi footswitch enclosure similar to the Fractal Audio MFC-101 or similar. If you have access to multiple sounds but then are limited to two small footswitches surely that is incredibly limiting? I realise you could still potential navigate up and down but professional guitarists would much prefer patches laid out for easy access.

That's right today's manufacturing quality of cheap instruments, amps & effects is way higher than when I started playing in the late 80's.

Oh you had to go there! haha. Some would argue that Klon Centaurs are worth that because that's what people are willing to pay. I, on the other hand, wouldn't argue that at all.
