If you use the memory card to store messages you won't lose them when resetting/flashing your phone. See the "other" settings in the Messages app for the option to change where the messages are stored.

Type *#0000# on the home screen and you'll get the version/model/date of firmware.

I believe I took a liking to Scott's themes when you were
"experimenting" with different layouts prior to moving over to habari. I
guess we have Google to thank since your blog post about being in NY
with/without tapes for OpenIngres 1.2 was what turned me on to your blog
in the first place. As the Spanish say, the world is like a handkerchief...

The two or three phones I've bought over the years I've got from http://expansys.com. Their prices seem reasonable. One issue you might have is getting a non-english phone via their continental web pages. E.g. an E71 I purchased from their Spanish site does not have the Spanish language pack installed. It pays to ask on the product pages if this could be an issue.

Hi Roy,

I agree that the many sources / water coolers is a problem for us.
Getting c.d.i. into the forums is my next "project". In as much that I
will be poking the people that can do the work rather than being able to
do it myself. On top of c.d.i we have Ingres related blogs which need to
be aggregated. Also there is twitter which also gets mentions of Ingres
(artist and database). To this end I am trying to collate/aggregate
these sources of "Ingres" information into http://planetingres.org. At
the moment it just does blogs - typically the ones I know about or come
across in google alert searches. The general chatter
(c.d.i/forums/twitter/irc) can be seen at
http://planetingres.org/cha.... It's still a work in progress but the
first step is to aggregate the info. The next step will be to make it
use-able/navigable. Although I could see the need/use for a "blogs"
feed in to the forums.

Thanks for the update - If you are feeling brave you could port the code to OpenAPI. That way you have a better chance to keep the driver in-line with Ingres.
