And the Cultivate logo wasn't copyrighted? If I were John, I would have just stuck with the cover. Especially since they had no idea of the Cultivate logo in the first place. That's pretty wild.

Re: Cultivate & John Maxwell – Separated at Birth?

Did Cultivate copyright / trademark the logo? If not, then really there's not a legitimate concern? Coincidence happens fairly often in the creative world (as does copying).

Re: Twitter Lists- Im Not Down

Makes me think of my faith. Believing something so much, and wanting everyone to understand it (like you do with what you write). But not everyone's going to dig it, and some will even hate that you bring it up.

But at some point you have to stand for something, and can't expect to please everyone. Stepping on toes is a big priority if you want to be influential. Just a choice whether you want to influence the world, or just those that agree with your view.

Re: Why I switch services so often (why I don’t use Google Reader anymore)

I guess what I am saying is that maybe it's not Google Reader that's the problem. Maybe it's what you are expecting out of them when comparing them to Twitter's processing of lots of smaller bits of info? For a reader (Google) to process many blogs is a totally different thing than processing tweets.

It's not just a bad service if you choose that reading tweets fits your style more than blogs do. The good thing - it's your opinion. The bad thing - doesn't make it the opinion of Google Reader.

Re: Why I switch services so often (why I don’t use Google Reader anymore)

Interesting post. I guess there are those of us out there that still enjoy reading more than 140 characters (blogs) from as few of sources as possible. Eating as much info as we can isn't a good thing, just because we can do it. Would be interesting to hear your take on the consumption of media - information that actually does good.

Re: What Would Luther Do? Adults going to church camp. Seems to me like it's such a mountain-top experience that many struggle with coming down from. The problem isn't with the conferences, it's that they're too large and happen only once per year.

I think Catalyst is onto something with the One Day conferences. We're on our way with Digital Disciples to supporting conferences like these (for the creative / tech minded) with monthly local gatherings to soften the church camp / mountain-top experience. I think that's what I like least about the larger conferences. Talking heads with very little chance to connect in person and help each other take the next step in our faith journey. So many times the presenter makes a point that hits home with someone in the audience, but they have no shot at connecting with the "rock stars". I think it's very important to take some time and look back at how the original church and disciples functioned!

Re: 5 days into parenthood! The one question I would have for you is if you have shared anything about true conversion or salvation on your podcast before? Seems like if you're a follower of Christ and bring some spirituality into the mix that it might not be a bad idea to share truth that deserves top priority in our lives.

My name is Gabe Taviano - personal site is over at http://www.taviano.com

Thanks for asking, and I'll definitely listen through more of your podcasts. I don't intend to build a wall between us, just trying to understand why it is you do what you do, or maybe even challenge each other on things that actually matter in life. Have a great weekend!

Re: TMUP Live 70: Getting Religious about Mac Development

I understand what you are trying to do by walking the fine line between faith and technology by the "play on words" method. Sort of like what the Born Again Mac User Show is doing over at http://www.pixelheadsnetwor....

The only thing I can say is that you are doing something much different than podcasters who are also followers of Christ are doing. As a follower of Christ it is my desire than people come to know Him and what He did for them as we celebrate that this weekend. Using the relationship we have with God is as serious of a matter in life as their can be.

I strongly believe that followers of Christ can be great comedians, and even joke about things in a clean way. Life is made to be enjoyable, but I just don't think at the expense of using what the Lord has done for us in a joking manner just to get the point across that using a PC is like going to hell.

My walk with the Lord is the most important thing in my life, even above my relationship with my spouse. My first guess would be that those who do not have a relationship with Christ might really find your irony interesting, while those of us that do find it to be maybe sac-religious. You really are walking a very thin line when trying to make light of salvation just to prove the greatness of Apple computers.

Re: TMUP Live 70: Getting Religious about Mac Development

I'd agree with Dennis! Sac-religious talk is for the birds. If you want to hear some truth about how faith applies to our using technology these days come and let us know what you think of our podcast at http://www.GodsMac.com.
