Here's where it started:

http://www.rwjf.org/pr/product.jsp?ia=143&id=14912

And what the 99 million dollars was going to. Note on page seven the "inside -out", provision going for patios later, AFTER business owners spend thousands of dollars to build them to accommodate their smoking customers, clearly showing that the tobacco control activists have ABSOLUTLY NO CONCERN about local issues or businesses. You may need to CTRL and scoll to enlarge it.

http://www.no-smoke.org/pdf/CIA_Fundamentals.pdf

Here's the "model ban" from page eight that many communities copied, printed, and passed. The Indian casino close to the Indiana state line has a huge area for expansion, enough to build separate buildings if needed. They probably see this coming. Allowing them to attend local meetings is the biggest mistake any town can make. Once they find gullible lawmakers, they will always be returning. No need to waste a lot of time. "Smoking Ban for Dummies"
Just click "print" then fill in the blanks naming your community and administrators names, and pass it. Bingo, an instant law. You don't even need to read all the legal mumbo jumbo. Simple, even for the most mentally challenged. This model ban can be customized to your location depending on how wide your local sidewalks are.

http://www.no-smoke.org/document.php?id=229

It's on page eight of the tobacco control handbook:

http://www.no-smoke.org/pdf/CIA_Fundamentals.pdf

Re: Military Smoking Ban

This controvesry may have chased away more potential recruits than ever before. Once they find gullible lawmakers, they'll be back for the patios later, AFTER business owners spend thousands of dollars to build them for their smoking patrons.. This is a quote from page seven of the ban lobbyists instruction book.

"Tobacco control advocates should work 'from the inside out.'
Prior to addressing
outdoor restrictions, communities should first have effective smokefree laws for indoor
environments. Because people are exposed to higher levels of secondhand smoke in
indoor settings than in outdoor ones, it makes sense from a public health perspective to
protect nonsmokers indoors before seeking outdoor air laws.
There is emerging science on the health hazards of outdoor exposure to secondhand smoke,"

Here's the whole instruction book. If they had ANY consideration for local businesses, they would do the patio ban upfront. These traveling lobbyists have ABSOLUTLY NO concern about local business owners

http://www.no-smoke.org/pdf/CIA_Fundamentals.pdf

Re: Chicago Parks Banning Smoking One by One

Since these bans are all about health, they should be required to put a Chantix and Zyban warning disclaimer on all of the government issued “No smoking” signs to prevent suicides and lawsuits by forcefully coercing residents into using a dangerous product.

www.marketwatch.com/story/fda-orders-harsher-wa...

Re: Opponents to smoke ban are only delaying a smoke-free South Dakota

Since these bans are all about health, they should be required to put the Chantix and Zyban warning on all of the government issued “No smoking” signs to prevent suicides and lawsuits by forcefully coercing residents into using a dangerous product.

www.marketwatch.com/story/fda-orders-harsher-wa...

Re: Council Considers Smoking Ban At Park - Detroit Local News Story - WDIV Detroit

If a statewide ban is passed, kids will be getting more smoke than ever before at home when parents can't smoke with their adult friends at a local bar.

Re: Council Considers Smoking Ban At Park - Detroit Local News Story - WDIV Detroit

California already has bans in your own home in some areas.
