I don't go out to the theater very often - even if its a show I really want to see I'll often wait until it's on Blu-ray to watch it on my home theater setup.

Then again... for most movies you're right that I probably would barely notice.

Re: 3.5” GPS Navigator with Traffic & Voice Command $100

Bummer. I have to say this transition to all digital is on one hand exciting and a great thing with respect to the move towards HD, the promise of new features and perhaps more channels. But I also worry about losing control and losing some of the things that has made my HTPC an advance over the standard cableTV box and even TiVo.

Can't wait for the next in this series - very interesting post.

Re: Logitech Harmony 659 Universal Remote Control $40

You are correct. Why? Because ABC is airing the four episodes of the 13-episode series now through November 24th with the remaining episodes potentially airing some time next year.

But yes it was intended to run as a series as opposed to min-series.

Re: TV Update – November Sweeps

Looks like Trama on NBC is a goner http://www.thrfeed.com/2009/10/nbc-cancels-trau...

Re: TV Update – November Sweeps

Not sure if I made this clear so here goes: Note that my "predictions" on which shows would survive and/or be canceled are more focused on whether they'll make it to a next season - not an indication that they'll be cut short for this current season.

Re: Snapstream Emphasizes Enterprise Focus – BeyondTV Product “Mature”

I'm a long-time BeyondTV user as well, but switched to SageTV to get a full-blown HTPC program. I hope Snapstream continues to update BeyondTV - it's a great, easy-to-use PVR and definitely still has its place in the HTPC world in my opinion. But the lack of development love from Snapstream continues to make it more difficult to recommend to new users in my opinion.

Re: Popcorn Hour C200 Media Player Review – Awesome Hardware

Yes, it's definitely better than that. Load times for physical Blu-ray
discs are comparible to average-speed Blu-ray players. I don't have the
specific load time but that will definitely vary depending on the drive you
use.

For those Blu-ray's ripped to a hard drive its faster.

Re: Popcorn Hour C200 Media Player Review – Awesome Hardware

Thanks for the comment. I actually prefer to have WiFi as an option on a media player even though I wouldn't ever want to rely on it for streaming video content - especially HD. But it's nice for short-term placement in a room without the hardwired connections for streaming music or even online video content - just not a good long-term solution.

Re: Free Halloween Jack O Lantern Templates - Over 40 Sites

You're certainly welcome Michael - thanks for stopping by and be sure & tell your friends.

Re: Popcorn Hour C200 Media Player Review – Awesome Hardware

Can't wait to get your own Popcorn Hour C-200? But they did leave the door open for future support of android apps of some kind. I wonder what kind of "hacking" of the firmware would be possible with it running some form of android.

Re: MythTV 0.22 Release Candidate 1 Arrives

oops. Last month they had a $20 off as well.

I've been pretty impressed that PlayOn has been able to avoid Hulu's wrath. I think they're getting away with it this far because of the way PlayOn access Hulu - via the RSS feeds. To block them Hulu would have to remove all RSS feeds so at this point is a simple cat & mouse game which PlayOn has handled better than boxee.
