As lame as it sounds, everything. But if I had to pick 1 thing it would be FaceTime. I have grandkids that live 100 miles away and 1,000 miles away so being able to FaceTime with the m will be awesome! Kids grow so quickly.

I hope you're wrong but fear you are right. I doubt Apple will provide a list of known working A2DP Bluetooth devices. I can see the Kensington not being compatible since it's a cheap headset.

The hotfix link above is for a flicker problem in Media Player, not Windows Aero itself. I went to the Intel website and grabbed the latest Windows 7 drivers for the chipset on my computer. Flicker is gone.

I saw the headline for this story in a tweet, went to Amazon and searched "Zune HD". It didn't give me a link to the product or pre-order but displayed a "banner" with two links for more info. Neither link works. Screen grabs:

I visited the site after seeing the first tweet about it early this morning and it looked untrustworthy. Then I went back a couple hours later and they added the "disclaimer" about the auto-tweet which was not there at first. I checked Safari's snapshot cache but it didn't have a snapshot of the original page any more. The Google cached version shows it originally asked for your Twitter ID number. A whois on the domain shows that it was created today. Unfortunately, too many people will see the auto-tweet and think it was sent intentionally and fall for it.

I agree that the browser playing field is rather level right now (and I'm surprised we're not hearing much from the Opera camp which tends to pipe up when there's a new browser release).

Firefox adoption was strongest with v1.x and early 2.x but they started making it an elephant in v2 and tried to fix that with v3. Opera seems to alway have the newest and greatest features but only a small group have adopted it. I stuck with Firefox because it was good enough and comfortable.

Chrome is faster but there are many reports of incompatibility. Yes, it's only v0.2.x.y.z but I still have to keep Firefox open so I can use Evernote and some other sites. If Google can keep the performance and improve compatibility without bloating Chrome it has a lot of potential.

It will be interesting to see how popular Chrome becomes. Will it be wildly popular like GMail? Or less popular like Google Sites? Only time will tell, but one issue still remains: many. many people use what's installed on their computer because they don't realize they have a choice, or why they need one. Otherwise, Firefox may have a larger user base.

There are 3G issues with the iPhone. Sure the phones they tested were fine but that doesn't mean that all iPhones work fine. What's unknown is whether the problem is some phones or the quality of service.

Case in point: my tweet from Saturday when my wife and I were in town (we live outside the 3G area) having a geek dinner (i.e. playing with our smart phones while waiting for the food):

The alleged convertible Smart ForTwo I saw was yellow, but I can't recall if the first one Smart I spotted was yellow or red. We'll be seeing more of them on the roads soon, just like it's not uncommon to see a Prius nowadays compared to 2-3 years ago.

Daniel Ha sent me a Twitter reply that the problem (my problem) was fixed. Apparently v2 was released (I installed that one) fixed for a PHP4 issue (I installed that one) and then sometime later fixed the RSS issue (which I downloaded today).

So it's worth a try to download the latest and if it still doesn't work report back.

I don't see how the ice cream manufacturer sponsorship negates the results. Sure, if the study was about the effectiveness of ice cream for losing weight (I wish) then it would be questionable. Or, if all of the flavors only listed positive qualities (and my tendency for perfection is NOT irritating, regardless of what Judy says).

Having similar problems with 2.0 on a system that had 1.0. When I click on Comments, as Daniel Ha suggested, I can't get to Disqus because of this error:

I haven't modified any files.

** Update:

The "Cannot load disqus." error is because I deactivated the plugin via renaming the directory. After I reactivate it, I'm still stuck at the legacy message on all Plugin screens.

I'm sure some people see a value to these apps. If nothing more they are creative and as I said in my other post, I give the developers props for making them. I just don't get all of them myself.

I haven't followed up with them yet after getting the initial rejection. As you saw on the Typical Mac Users site, they recommended taking this to PR. I haven't done that yet. Not sure I will.

I ordered my Drobo combo using the promo code from Cali Lewis on GeekBrief.tv. Initially I thought I was saving money, but now I feel as you do, that they were just trying to clear inventory since the promo codes were only good through June 30th and the new version was released a week later. Hell, even Apple runs their inventory down so there's less in the channel and still will swap it out.

I disagree that the original Drobo is worth nothing. Sure it's value has decrease. If it wasn't for the poor customer service, I'd consider taking the loss of buying a new one and selling the used one at a loss. Heck, I still have all the original packaging AND the protective plastic sheet still on the front and back so it's a used unit but "like new" or "excellent condition".
