I deleted a comment here for two reasons:

1. It was inflammatory and attacking in nature.
2. It was anonymous.

In other words, when you comment on this site, you can either sound off about your abrasive opinions and clearly state your name or you can be polite and anonymous. You cannot be both abrasive and anonymous - That makes you a troll.

"Clearing out" would be tough. But if the zombie plague were spread through bites, then the prison's isolation would mean you were likely to have an overcrowded complex of uninfected violent criminals. At least until one of the zombies got in...

Hey,

I'm glad somebody mentioned the Walking Dead - I've been reading it
myself, and trying to get around to posting about it. And, you're
right, the comic nails the prison-as-a-refuge idea. I just recently
finished book 6 of the series.

I'd love to hear more about your "apocalypse bag" by the way. What do
you have packed, etc?

There's a lot of prison talk going on here, but no mention of the Walking Dead, an amazing comic series which they hole up in a prison for most of the current series... but there were a lot of failed attempts at other locations prior to the prison, its really a beautiful comic and i think most of the people on this site would enjoy it... now... having said that, ive got loads of opinions and theories and hypotheticals and an apocalypse bag in my closet. i'll start posting here soon enough, i've just recently discovered this place...

I appreciate you reading my "thing." I wrote before about the running
zombie versus the walking zombie here:

As far as running zombies in "Dawn of the Dead" I assume you're talking
about the most recent version - and not the original.

When I said "swing from their arms" I meant holding their body weight with
their arms as they hang from something - not swinging their arms as they
walk (and I know you're going to mention the zombie in the parking garage in
the new "Dawn of the Dead," but again - that is based on the running zombie
theory).

And look, a zombie is a dead person whose body is decomposing. One of the
most important things that set dead people apart from living people is their
ability to heal wounds. When a living person exerts strength, their muscles
tear - and when they heal up again, they grow stronger. A dead person's
muscles can't heal - therefore they can't grow stronger - and, in fact grow
weaker every time they use their muscles.

So, please read my other posts, Gabriel - read Max Brooks' "Zombie Survival
Guide" and watch George Romero's original "Dawn of the Dead."

Haha! Sorry, planning for every possible disaster is a side effect from working at a disaster recovery center for a number of years and I get very indepth with my zombie thinking. Then I started writing a novel and did a google search. Imagine my surprise when I found I wasn't alone in my obsession!

Yes, I'm sorry I can't help you with the musical part of your musical -- I can only offer book ideas, but I have lots of those! Probably too many. I don't think you'd even have to fictionalize Walter's life too much, it was pretty crazy. It was also pretty rich in traditional dramatic themes. Honestly, reading the El-Hai biography, I am reminded of nothing so much as Milton's Paradise Lost. Freeman starts out with some really good questions about how we treat crazy people, like isn't there something better we can do than lock them in an asylum until they die? But then he gets overcome by his sense of his own importance and before you know it he's doing two-handed lobotomies to get attention. Somewhere along the way his pride overwhelms his finer feelings. And meanwhile his wife's becoming an alcoholic and he's hitting the Nembutal pretty hard himself, so where do we draw the line between sick and well?

Also, one of his kids was swept over a waterfall and died before his eyes. Drama!

By the way, congratulations on the birth of your lovely daughter! You gave her a lovely name to match.

Thank you!! - you're the first person to agree with me on this. And, thanks for letting me know about the poetry, you're right about it being a good place to start for the music.

You got my hopes up when you commented on the post. When I started reading, after I determined that it wasn't a spammy comment, I thought, "Oh my god, someone's going to offer to work on this with me!" But, it's okay, I know that it will eventually make it to the stage.

I went by your blog too - the comics are HILARIOUS!! Great posts too. I'm a little confused about the layout though - does the blog have more than one author? I ask because of the different avatars.

Hey Mark,

I agree, it was definitely worth a look. Here's what I found:

First things first - I came to this with an open mind and no expectations.

I read the factcheck.org article on it. The article seems pretty complete
to me - and really the only question that can be put to it is whether or not
they were handed a falsified, or outright false, document.

I looked at the video too - and although it makes claims of being made by an
independent (Molotov Mitchel), and the principal interviewee (Philip J.
Berg, Esq.) says he's a Democrat (claims that attempt to lend some form of
objectivity to the piece), I have to take a video with a grain of salt when
it was made by a production company called "Illuminati Pictures" and begins
with the claim by Jill Stanek (Who is only identified as a "Star
Congressional Witness") that Obama supported "infanticide."

I'd love to see that law.

"On the ballot for today: Infanticide. All opposed? MmmHmm, Looks like
99. All in favor? ... I see - let the record show that Barack Obama voted
in favor of infanticide."

As to the claims about the birth certificate, Philip J. Berg makes claim
that the document is a fake, but he doesn't really offer any evidence for
his claim.

I think politifact.com (quoted in the factcheck article) makes a good point
about this debate with Occam's razor, "It is possible that Obama conspired
his way to the precipice of the world's biggest job, involving a vast
network of people and government agencies over decades of lies. Anything's
possible. But step back and look at the overwhelming evidence to the
contrary and your sense of what's reasonable has to take over."

Also, as you said, the claim is hurt even more by the fact that it is so
ardently supported by white supremicist websites and organizations. All in
all, I have to assume that this claim, along with the many claims like this
in the past (This same accusation has been placed at the feet of McCain,
Dick Cheney, and Barry Goldwater), is subterfuge to distract voters from the
very real problems that we as a nation are facing.
