Thanks.

I know I'm late to the party here, but I love your single screen setup. My most used apps live on the home screen and in the dock, and I use 4 action titled folders to house the remainder of my apps. The folders are - Learn. Make. Play. Work.

One app I love is Launcher. With Launcher, I can add app widgets to Notification Center. Like you I swipe down and search for apps more than I scroll through the folders, but I keep only a few apps here that I want to be able to activate from the lock screen - Google Authenticator, Settings, Timer+, and Wallet.

Re: My 1st Snowboarding Experience

A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!! :)

Re: How to Reach Out to Bloggers

Your example of Christina Pacelli and the Eye Fi resonated with me. In business, I try not to take it personally if someone does not find the same value in me or my product as I do them. I've either not presented myself in an effective manner, or there is just not a need at that time. Since I found value on my end, I will remain politely persistent and interact even if just to say thank you for being a resource for me.

Re: Some Days It Looks Like I’m Not Working

Your activites appear to fall perfectly under the umbrella of your 3 Words. You're focused on your projects at hand. How you get things done is different than those who have embraced social media as a way to work. Those individuals won't understand how you could possibly be working. I certainly get it and appreciate how you lead by example and walk your talk. I particularly appreciate how you are working via Twitter, blog comments, and Facebook instead of spending valuable time with chats and phone calls to offer your valuable expertise and insight to others. Chats and phone calls can be time wasters by allowing for tangential conversation.

I especially love text and Twitter, because these mediums force people to keep their communications precise. This helps me keep my workflow efficient. When it's time, we can grab a bite and chat about other things during non-working times.

Re: My 3 Words for 2010

Tremendous post. Very motivating. Thank you for keeping the fire lit beneath my feet.

My 3 Words: Schema. Serve. Stimulate.

Schema: I come from a database management background, and so tables, fields, and their relationships speak volumes to me. Instead of tables and fields, however, I think of disciplines/areas of expertise and their players. Who do I need to know and learn from? Relationships is about building, contributing to, and nurturing my network.

Serve: Listening will continue to be key to knowing how I can be an effective person in helping others. This is how I will know what, how and when to give back from what I learn and know through sharing, teaching and creating avenues and/or tools to help others in ways meaningful to them.

Stimulate: Going forward will be about building my life in ways that allow me to support myself, my family, and be an active contributor to the communities where I work and play.

Re: Bragging Rights

Congrats, Chris! I LOVE the feel of books, some jazz, and a hot cocoa (with marshmallows, of course). But, I also LOVE efficiency and convenience. Going to the bookstore is one of my favorite things to do a few times per week. I peruse magazine and books for a couple of hours. I'm sure like you, I could really spend the entire day there...if I COULD spend the entire day there. :)

The Kindle is also immediate cost prohibitive. I just can't wrap my arms around the cost. But, bringing in another element. I have read 7 books now on my iPhone (believe it or not). I am often away from my computer and have time to read. I enjoy it. That said, I do carry at least one book around with me, too, for times when I have a low battery.

Currently reading:
1. Career Renegade by Jonathan Fields (on my iPhone)
2. Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea by Chelsea Handler (on my iPhone)
3. The Thong Also Rises by Jennifer L. Leo, Ayun Halliday, and Laurie Notaro (paperback)

Re: iPhone Applications For New iPhone Owners

One app I have repeatedly been hipped to is Around Me.
