Creating a hate site is inherently beyond legitimate criticisms: it's a whole fucking site dedicated to hating a person or another site. There's nothing genuinely legit in dedicating a whole site to just to participate in hate. That's obsessive and creepy. It becomes hate for sport and what the fuck kind of person devolves to that? If you dislike a site, just leave. Don't go back. Ignore. I've been doing that, until now, to their asinine bullshit.

I've been at Liss and Iain's house more than once. Their house is not filth. They're genuinely awesome people, as are the other mods here. More over, they're people who don't deserve targeted harassment and abuse.

Re: Happy Birthday, Misty!

Now THAT is quite the princess cake, LOL!

Thank you, everyone!!

Re: All of Teh Internetz in One Site

If you change your "single" status to "seeing someone" but DO NOT change "what you're looking for" (as long as what you're looking for lists "long term dating" and/or "short term dating" and/or "casual sex"), you should show up as available. That's how I did it. If you only have "activity partners" or "new friends" listed, it won't have you as "available".

Re: All of Teh Internetz in One Site

Yeah, it can be disconcerting to have happen. Thankfully most people who do send creepy and/or outright propositioning messages seem to be one-offs, in that they message once and if you don't respond, they tend to go away never to be heard from again. Not everyone but most of them.

All in all I've found it very rewarding. I've gone out with some really awesome people and while only very few of them have become (or may become) partners, I have made some really cool new friends.

Re: All of Teh Internetz in One Site

The one thing I wonder about--and I meant to put this in the post--is that I'm pretty used to the horrible side of internet interactions so it generally doesn't phase me much anymore (which is pretty sad, right?). I really feel for people who may not have a way to process experiencing that sort of crap. It has to be really scary for some people, I'd think.

Re: Reproductive Rights Updates: Iowa, Missouri, New Mexico, & National

Thanks! <3

Re: Sunday Shuffle

I love that song!

Re: Sure

TERFs and MRAs are no different in that they both want to uphold the same boxes built on rigid bullshit that serve to support their chosen worldview (which generally promotes to uphold whatever amount of privilege they derive from said position).

IOW, the anti-trans bigoted views are pretty much the same from both directions.

Re: Question of the Day

Slow cooker chicken tikka masala w/rice and....something. These offices are often nonpartisan and escape national attention, but make important decisions related to schools, criminal justice, health and family services, and economic opportunity that directly affect our daily lives. Local manipulation is a real problem — over 85 percent of all election rule changes rejected as unfair under Section 5 were at the local level.
