in John McCain’s night on The New Mexico Independent
Trip,

I'm glad you are encouraging folks to write with some decorum here. I read a couple comment strings in other articles and it appears that there are a couple contributors who lean toward name-calling and strong language, light on content.

in Alford is a White fan, woof, woof, woof on The New Mexico Independent
I am interested to see how this one plays out. It now appears that Alford is suggesting that the White campaign misrepresented his role in the fundraiser....

in Democratic tsunami? on The New Mexico Independent
To some degree, this is a result of Republicans overplaying their hand when they were in power, pushing the war in Iraq, tax cuts for the rich, subsidies for big oil, as well as made-for-TV "issues" like Terry Shaivo. While the Republicans have accused Democrats of "tax and spend" policies, the current crop of Republican national leaders are pursuing "tax-cut and spend" policies that are creating great deficits.

The 2008 election outcomes will also reflect some long-term trends of partisan realignment in the northeast and midwest as some Bob Dole and James Jeffords-type Republicans do not feel comfortable in a party that has come to be dominated in greater degree by Christian fundamentalists.

in CD1: White and Carraro mix it up on The New Mexico Independent
Will they go after White on the escape tunnel hoax of 1997? White was one of the high-level officials who was in on announcement of discovery of the tunnel, then backpedaled when he realized it was a maintenance shaft.
