in Aligning Social Media Within Companies on Chris Brogan
Lots of different thoughts actually but I will just post a few. My overall opinion of businesses using social media tools is for primarily a PR perspective. Trying to create a un-formidable image with your consumers/clients/investors etc. Trying to be totally transparent and connected with them. As if you are all sitting underneath an oak tree hanging out and just chillin together.
However, I am a firm believer that businesses can also use Twitter for example to create a buzz about a new product or keep consumers up to date on the health of you company in a more personal way.
Obviously not all businesses will even want to think about social media, but I believe for those who do will be well received by this and the upcoming generation.
Transparency is king.

in Why Join Another Social Network on Chris Brogan
Hi Chris,
First of all great post...thank you. As you know this is something I have struggled with as well. How many social networks is enough, but yet I still keep joining the new ones and playing with them. :-)
The only problem is that for the most part besides Twitter and Facebook it is the same group of techno-geek friends that I am associating with in most of those social networks (myspace is a bit different because that is more mainstream and common ) so I am not really expanding my universe in the social media realm. However, occasionally one of my friends introduces me to a new friend and makes it all worth it.
Social networks are definitely addicting and fascinating. I was in love with Facebook for the lifelogging aspect long before the open API, however, now I really am. Personally for me even though all these new social networks take up a bit of my time they are all also passions and interests of mine. I still have my favorites that I return to and regularly use, but I definitely like to be in on the new/hot ones....even if it is with just me and my posse.
Why do I join endless social networks? Networking, education, new forms of communication, and simply just because they are fascinating. :-)

in Being stuck and the art of creating content on jeremyvaught.com
My personal thoughts on this are definitely go for it no matter what it is. I know coming to a creative wall is a difficult thing to get over sometimes, but I think if you keep going no matter what the 'quality' of the product is you will just further your reach.
I am trying to blog every day (have skipped for a week now), and most the time it is junk, but I am still going (or trying).
I have told you this many times, but you are very creative and it is easy to see your passion for new media in your blogs and podcasts. Just keep doing it, and you will surprise yourself.
I second CC on saying I cannot wait to see what you come up with!!

in Second Life is Just a Fad Huh? on crayon, a new marketing company
First of all thanks CC for the nice write up. Second even as a Sheep I agree with Mike. Second Life is not a quick start program, however, just like with the L Word we are trying to make SL more user friendly and will continue to improve upon that.
All of us at the Sheep love the expansion of the metaverse and very much see the current limitations, but hey we are striving to overcome those. :-)
