  Instead of mending its ways, Colorado Springs continues on its path of allowing no waves to be made, and no voice of dissent to be raised effectively.  De facto segregation exists in the poorly performing public schools.  Spousal and child abuse abounds.  State rankings of forty-seventh and forty-eighth in the nation as to provision for the developmentally disabled and the mentally ill are confirmed with gusto here in the shadow of magnificent Pikes Peak.  And 'slave labor', in the form of women brought here from the islands to work in the area's elegant hotels and motels, goes unnoticed and unmentioned in this anti-union, "America the Beautiful" city.

  Delegates and alternates, elected to go to a Democratic county assembly held in February, 2008, stood outside in the bitter cold, some of them for hours.  They were intimidated and turned away from the assembly in number.  Their complaints went nowhere.  And the state Democratic convention in May, 2008, scheduled to be held at the World Arena in Colorado Springs, looms like a larger repeat of the earlier anti-war protest right before the start of the war.  Police are ordered, armed, and ready, and no effective (within "shouting distance") protesting will be allowed on site.  The list of sins goes on and on in this overtly neo-con, 'Christian' heaven."

  So, elected delegates and alternates, and peace demonstrators, hope for the best but prepare for the worst when coming to the Democratic state state convention in Colorado Springs (a.k.a. "Naziville").

don't let it happen with this election. it is too important. it is too important for reasons of the supreme court, for the federal courts that bush has been decimating for eight long years.



if you believe that all of us lesser beings: blacks, native americans, hispanics, women, all of the rest, are actually equal to the power people, we cannot lose this election, no matter what.



it pays to remember that in all of this anguish over who's going to win the democratic nomination.



if you can do nothing else, think "the courts the courts THE COURTS," hold your nose, and vote for the democrat.

we should be as vicious as we can possibly be with the innuendos and the whispering campaigns. We still have to be smart about it, and it has to be outside Obama's campaign.

it is a sad day indeed when democrats turn on democrats a la karl rove. pathetic.

He needs to show he can fight. If he can't, he'll never win out against the republican occupation of washington.


It seems everyone here is forgetting that the real enemy, the one that is destroying our country and the world, is the republican party.



If he can't toughen up and take on Hillary Clinton, he is not going to win against that vicious, man eating machine of the Republicans which has, most frighteningly, complete control of the media.

I don't think Obama needs to stoop to snagging innuendo off of Craigs List to win this thing.


But he is going to have to stiffen up and fight. It will be interesting to see if he has it in him. I hope he does, but I'm not certain he's the fighter we're going to need to take on McCain.

You can't seriously make a case for Obama being bashed in the media more than Clinton. She has been vilified from the beginning, far beyond anything I've seen in my long life.

By the way, where is your post about Obama saying no, he didn't talk to anyone in Canada about NAFTA, then Oops! guess we did?

I will vote for him if he is the nominee. But this is what has bothered me about him from the beginning: he comes in talking conciliation and working across the aisles and all of that mess, which naturally means sucking up to the big business interests of the republican party. That's what they're about, if he's working WITH them, he's working FOR their corporate puppetmasters. So he's telling the American people that he's going to revisit NAFTA and telling Canada that that promise is just political posturing?



Fuck that.

at what point does the constant "crying foul" become detrimental? When does making noise over every percieved slight start putting people off?
