Ultimately what you are looking for is the truth. Nothing else will satisfy you or give you peace. You have to make a decision about whether or not the bible is true. This is an investigation that took me a long, long time. I was a Christian, then I was an exchristian for ten years, and through an act of Grace that still makes me weep when I talk about it, God pulled me back. But coming back to faith required a careful study of the historical evidence of the foundation of the faith, the bible. There are tens of thousands of historical facts in the bible, and I couldn't find anything that has been disproved by modern archeology. I became convinced, as have many others.

Don't stop looking for truth. Contrary to what the post-modern world preaches, truth is absolute. If you seek, oh, you will find. God is faithful to his promises.

Many people on this site have a problem with the Christian church. Hey, i have a problem with most of the Christian church. But I haven't read a single comment that has a problem with the teachings of Jesus. We are not perfect, not even christians. We fail, we hurt people, and we destroy lives. We are human, and sometimes we are self-righteous, and sometimes we are full of hate. Please don't look at me to find God - look at God to find God. At the end of the day, it is just between you and him.

Mike, when you do your evangelical atheism, do you go into Guguletu, Khayalitsha, or Mitchell's plain? Have you ever been into a small church in Guguletu where 50% of the congregation is is HIV positive and not one member of the congregation has work, and preached your Good News, while they are praising God's goodness with joy in their hearts?

In the comfort of the Western world, it is easy to see how God can be a burden. In the real world, there is work to do, bringing hope and ultimate truth to the suffering. That's where the heart of Christ is, and that's where you'll see God is real.

Toni's goal v Rom should have stood. RVN's goal was legit. A defender does not have the ability to go dormant and as such not be counted for an offside like an attacking player does. Read the rules. As for max fixing, as you are clearly an Italy fan (you must be constantly bored) I assume you know the rich tradition they've got on the boot for such things. By dangerous play you must mean having 11 men behind the ball with Toni sniffing for fouls around the center circle. Yes, it's quite dangerous. Dangerous to the sport, that is. Spain had far more meaningful play in the attacking third. Italy is overly reliant on Pirlo, a fantastic player, for creative play whereas Spain can call on a few midfield generals. For god's sake, any team that can pull a creative midfielder like Fabregas off the bench when Xavi is not working out clearly has some depth, unlike Italy. Though I would have liked to see more of Del Piero in the tournament. I'm a neutral for this go but re: ESP v ITA I sure weren't hoping the Azurri scraped another scoreless draw to PKs. Boring, negative, gutless. I loved how the Dutch crushed them with free flowing football.

Listen, you've got to be consistent. First you claim history is on your side as ITA have got a bit of hardware on the shelf. Fare game. They do have a rich history. But then you say nothing counts if it's in the past re: ESP. So, please, pick your ground and argue from it. Otherwise, I just write you off as another partisan hack who knows nothing about the game and just calls it as it lays for your team. Also, as per recent history, ESP are one goal away from smashing the other half of your claim re: never winning anything.

The only reason why I am glad that Euro Championship is over (besides having to watch Germany lose) is that I don't have to listen to Andy Gray!!! I am so sick of his one sided comments, and not just for this final game but for all other games. He is very annoying...I feel as if I am listening to Shrek for 90 minutes!

Hablando de reuniones con dictadores y gente rarita, imagino que también te referirás a que George Bush padre consideraba a Sadam Hussein un buen cliente de su mercado de armamento y su administración no tenía problemas para reunirse con él y hacer una bonita foto. Los de LD no tardarán nada en ladrar sus sandeces mañana por la mañana. El artículo sobre el juez no hay por donde cogerlo, la verdad ("presuntamente asesinaron"... FJL se puede meter el sarcasmo por donde le quepa). Aún no entiendo la afición de esta gente (¿gente?) por hacer el payaso de esta manera. En fin.

Es probable que la decisión no consiga la repercusión que se querría (que se juzgue a los militares que asesinaron a José Couso), pero al menos me alegro por lo que representa: un NO a la impunidad.

Korso y fustafio: el bloqueo y la posición de macho-man vaquero de EE UU respecto a Cuba (y una larguísima lista de países), no justifican en ningún caso la política represiva que ejerce Fidel Castro.

Cierto que en Cuba determinadas políticas sociales funcionan mejor que otras "democracias" de Latinoamérica (el sistema sanitario, por ejemplo). Pero no por ello, Cuba deja de ser una dictadura. Y más que represiva: hay decenas de presos de conciencia; al gobierno no le da la gana de firmar el Estatuto de la CPI y ponen mil pegas a firmar o ratificar cada Convenio de la ONU (por ejemplo, el de la Mujer). Y en las cárceles cubanas hay más de 40 presos condenados a muerte. Desde una posición de izquierdas JAMÁS se puede consentir o justificar la barbarie que supone esta práctica, que es innecesaria, injusta, cruel y degradante.

El hecho de estar en contra del bloqueo no quiere decir que se haga la vista gorda de todo lo demás, ni que considerarlo "defectos". Son políticas represivas de una dictadura.

Gracias, Ricardo. Ya es hora de que desde la izquierda empecemos a aclarar términos.

Sí, Anonymus. De hecho hoy mismo EE UU tiene el lamentable "record" de haber ajusticiado al preso número 1000 desde que reinstauraron la pena de muerte en la década de los 70. Hay cientos de presos en los corredores de la muerte, y es de los pocos países que mantiene la pena capital para menores de edad.

Si quieres nos ponemos a ennumerar la lista de barbaridades que el gobierno de Estados Unidos hace todos los días. No hay suficiente espacio en este blog.

Pero este hilo es sobre Cuba. El que otros gobiernos se pasen la democracia por el forro, y hagan todas las salvajadas que se les antoje sin que se les ponga freno, no justifica las que haga Cuba. Que EE UU, Afganistán, la Autoridad Palestina, Guatemala, China, y otros 69 países sigan ejecutando presos, no hace mejor a Cuba, que sigue siendo tan retencionista como aquéllos. Y defender la pena de muerte en un cualquier sistema político es nauseabundo.

Afirmar que en Cuba no se respetan los derechos humanos no significa necesariamente ser pro yankee, retrógrado o manipulado, ni mucho menos de derechas. A ver si distinguimos.

Telman, ni los delitos de sangre ni los comunes han descendido desde la instauración de la pena de muerte en Estados Unidos. Al contrario, han aumentado en los últimos 20 años. Puedes consultar las estadísticas que publica el gobierno federal cada año, que cantan solitas. Argumentar que la pena de muerte reduce los delitos es una falacia. Y los argumentos pro pena de muerte en EE UU, Arabia Saudí, China, Cuba o en Marte los proclaman los mismos que ejecutan las sentencias.

Por ejemplo, la libertad empresarial y de mercado, según como la entendéis vosotros, justifica y defiende la explotación sexual infantil, el tráfico de armas, el tráfico de drogas, el turismo sexual o la expoliación sin freno de los recursos naturales, por poner sólo unos ejemplillos, que hay mucho más.

Esto era lo que faltaba por oír: un martirologio comparativo de las víctimas. Cómo se puede caer tan bajo.

El sábado 25 yo no fui a la manifestación de Madrid. En su lugar, un grupo de amigos fuimos a dejar unas flores en un cementerio cercano a mi localidad donde descansa una persona asesinada por ETA. Supongo que sólo por esto ya me merezco los habituales descalificativos por parte de cierto sector de la derecha (ya podéis afinar los teclados). De hecho, en la citada manifestación, hubo quien, micrófono en mano, dijo que todos los que no acudimos a la manifestación, eramos cómplices de ETA... En fin, este país es lo que tiene.

Lo que no admito ni voy a dejar pasar es que se clasifique el dolor y la pena de las víctimas y de sus familias en función del partido político al que pertenecen, o de si habitan en tal ciudad u otra o de cualquier vara de medir ridícula. ¿Crees tú que se puede medir el dolor humano? Cómo se puede ser tan absurdo...

Claro que, visto lo visto, ese es justo el planteamiento en que se basa la política de un amplio sector de la derecha, cada día más histérico y en su papel de salvapatrias, y de aquellos que les jalean. Eso es lo que vino a decir Aznar cuando hace un par de años bramaba aquello de "a los muertos hay que dejarlos en paz", refiriéndose a las familias que buscan a los suyos, 70 años después. ¿A qué muertos, señor Aznar? O como Martínez Pujalte, carcajeándose y pataleando en la comisión del 11-M, como un desquiciado. O como Zaplana, leyendo el periódico en primera fila mientras Pilar Manjón hablaba en la misma Comisión. O el mismo Aznar, riéndose a carcajadas en la manifestación del sábado por el "respeto" a las víctimas.

¿Quién es esta gente? Tratan de ningunear y de mofarse del dolor de los que no consideran "de los suyos". Qué poca vergüenza.

Y una cosa más: la manifestación pedía "respeto"... ¿Qué clase de "respeto", con todas esas pancartas en las que se leía "Zapatero, vete con tu abuelo"? Con las banderas de la gallina, que últimamente no faltan en ninguna manifestación y con Ynestrillas de la mano. Es lamentable.

Ufff... ¡qué miedo!: ¡el Sargento Romerales en sus años mozos! Ya en aquellos tiempos apuntaba maneras.

El álbum de fotos de este señor no tiene desperdicio. Y lo que ha seguido a cada foto, tampoco. Como aquella memorable imagen suya en bañador con su señora a la orilla de la playa de Oropesa del Mar. Gracias a su elección veraniega, hoy Oropesa y alrededores le "deben" su "espléndido" desarrollo urbanístico, encargado por nuestro Ansar en persona a Zaplana y las cuarenta inmobiliarias, quienes han dejado el litoral hecho un primor, como así avalan más de 15.000 denuncias por salvajadas urbanísticas. Y allá que va a por más.

U otro ejemplo más memorable aún: aquella simpática fotografía con pies por la mesa de la Casa Blanca, practicando su inglés y trabajando duramente con el presidente del mundo mundial por la "salvación" de Iraq. Y para muestra de lo que le "deben" los iraquíes, sirven por ejemplo los periódicos de hoy. Que no puede ir peor el tema.

You don't need any more known text to use Markov chains. Let's say we know it's English based on the known text, and we've discovered that a letter is 'q' instead of running through all the letters a-u before discovering that the next letter is 'u', we should try 'u' first based on probability.

The significance of this picture is that I, an overly controlled and controlling figure, went all out and experimented with Absinthe (regretfully mixed with Tequila) with the resultant effect noted above. While I acknowledge that Seldin should be credited with developing the technique of "pancaking" (basically as difficult as wiping your ass), Lancaster's development of the term is deserving of far more credit. So I salute you Jason Lancaster for your development of the term - its a one finger salute, but a salute just the same.

What about in places that have roasting summers and cold winters. In winter the water would expand and break the glass, are you putting in some anti-freeze?

The item designer is responsible for the layout of items on the sheet, so reducing the amount of wastage per item is the designers perogative.

I was under the impression that the production process and efficiencies would improve as more fabrication companies linked up to the site. Distributed fabrication of each item at a site closest to the consumer would be an ideal solution to drastically cutting delivery milage, storage costs and waste due to over production.

In my opinion this is a great model for design production that needs a little time to grow and mature.

I get where you're coming from.

I've been in the hot-seat when a TibRV induced NAK-storm caused the network to meltdown at market close. Several days in a row.

From the way you approach this post, I get some color on your development environment and infrastructure's capabilities (both the hardware and people bits). Seems you have a lot of the problems I've run into in the past.

My sympathies.

BTW, we've been so burned by RV and the like that we've ditched them completely and use straight TCP (with its own set of problems, but ones we can better control and work-around. Not to mention lack of licensing fees).

I am working with autocad 2008 and I cannot get the scroll wheel to pan. I have tried everything mentioned. It performs the zoom function just fine. Any Ideas?? (I am using the a basic mouse that came with the computer)
