You don't need any more known text to use Markov chains. Let's say we know it's English based on the known text, and we've discovered that a letter is 'q' instead of running through all the letters a-u before discovering that the next letter is 'u', we should try 'u' first based on probability.

You could probably speed it up/increase accuracy by using Markov chains to try more likely next letters before less likely ones.

The only reason why I am glad that Euro Championship is over (besides having to watch Germany lose) is that I don't have to listen to Andy Gray!!! I am so sick of his one sided comments, and not just for this final game but for all other games. He is very annoying...I feel as if I am listening to Shrek for 90 minutes!

Listen, you've got to be consistent. First you claim history is on your side as ITA have got a bit of hardware on the shelf. Fare game. They do have a rich history. But then you say nothing counts if it's in the past re: ESP. So, please, pick your ground and argue from it. Otherwise, I just write you off as another partisan hack who knows nothing about the game and just calls it as it lays for your team. Also, as per recent history, ESP are one goal away from smashing the other half of your claim re: never winning anything.

Toni's goal v Rom should have stood. RVN's goal was legit. A defender does not have the ability to go dormant and as such not be counted for an offside like an attacking player does. Read the rules. As for max fixing, as you are clearly an Italy fan (you must be constantly bored) I assume you know the rich tradition they've got on the boot for such things. By dangerous play you must mean having 11 men behind the ball with Toni sniffing for fouls around the center circle. Yes, it's quite dangerous. Dangerous to the sport, that is. Spain had far more meaningful play in the attacking third. Italy is overly reliant on Pirlo, a fantastic player, for creative play whereas Spain can call on a few midfield generals. For god's sake, any team that can pull a creative midfielder like Fabregas off the bench when Xavi is not working out clearly has some depth, unlike Italy. Though I would have liked to see more of Del Piero in the tournament. I'm a neutral for this go but re: ESP v ITA I sure weren't hoping the Azurri scraped another scoreless draw to PKs. Boring, negative, gutless. I loved how the Dutch crushed them with free flowing football.

Ufff... ¡qué miedo!: ¡el Sargento Romerales en sus años mozos! Ya en aquellos tiempos apuntaba maneras.

El álbum de fotos de este señor no tiene desperdicio. Y lo que ha seguido a cada foto, tampoco. Como aquella memorable imagen suya en bañador con su señora a la orilla de la playa de Oropesa del Mar. Gracias a su elección veraniega, hoy Oropesa y alrededores le "deben" su "espléndido" desarrollo urbanístico, encargado por nuestro Ansar en persona a Zaplana y las cuarenta inmobiliarias, quienes han dejado el litoral hecho un primor, como así avalan más de 15.000 denuncias por salvajadas urbanísticas. Y allá que va a por más.

U otro ejemplo más memorable aún: aquella simpática fotografía con pies por la mesa de la Casa Blanca, practicando su inglés y trabajando duramente con el presidente del mundo mundial por la "salvación" de Iraq. Y para muestra de lo que le "deben" los iraquíes, sirven por ejemplo los periódicos de hoy. Que no puede ir peor el tema.

Y todo el solito, oyes.

Esto era lo que faltaba por oír: un martirologio comparativo de las víctimas. Cómo se puede caer tan bajo.

El sábado 25 yo no fui a la manifestación de Madrid. En su lugar, un grupo de amigos fuimos a dejar unas flores en un cementerio cercano a mi localidad donde descansa una persona asesinada por ETA. Supongo que sólo por esto ya me merezco los habituales descalificativos por parte de cierto sector de la derecha (ya podéis afinar los teclados). De hecho, en la citada manifestación, hubo quien, micrófono en mano, dijo que todos los que no acudimos a la manifestación, eramos cómplices de ETA... En fin, este país es lo que tiene.

Lo que no admito ni voy a dejar pasar es que se clasifique el dolor y la pena de las víctimas y de sus familias en función del partido político al que pertenecen, o de si habitan en tal ciudad u otra o de cualquier vara de medir ridícula. ¿Crees tú que se puede medir el dolor humano? Cómo se puede ser tan absurdo...

Claro que, visto lo visto, ese es justo el planteamiento en que se basa la política de un amplio sector de la derecha, cada día más histérico y en su papel de salvapatrias, y de aquellos que les jalean. Eso es lo que vino a decir Aznar cuando hace un par de años bramaba aquello de "a los muertos hay que dejarlos en paz", refiriéndose a las familias que buscan a los suyos, 70 años después. ¿A qué muertos, señor Aznar? O como Martínez Pujalte, carcajeándose y pataleando en la comisión del 11-M, como un desquiciado. O como Zaplana, leyendo el periódico en primera fila mientras Pilar Manjón hablaba en la misma Comisión. O el mismo Aznar, riéndose a carcajadas en la manifestación del sábado por el "respeto" a las víctimas.

¿Quién es esta gente? Tratan de ningunear y de mofarse del dolor de los que no consideran "de los suyos". Qué poca vergüenza.

Y una cosa más: la manifestación pedía "respeto"... ¿Qué clase de "respeto", con todas esas pancartas en las que se leía "Zapatero, vete con tu abuelo"? Con las banderas de la gallina, que últimamente no faltan en ninguna manifestación y con Ynestrillas de la mano. Es lamentable.

Sí, Defensa y Moses: que vuelva Sadam, para que Bush padre vuelva a hacer negocios con él. A ver de dónde os creéis que salía la financiación para las masacres de kurdos y demás barbaridades de Sadam Hussein. La foto de Sadam con el gabinete de Bush padre haciendo business en Iraq la tenéis en cualquier hemeroteca. Hasta que el monstruo se les fue de las manos. Claro, que de eso EE UU sabe mucho: Indonesia, Timor, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Panamá (uy, Noriega, otro "éxito" de Bush padre) y un largo y tristísimo etc.

Por cierto, vosotros, de los abusos de derechos humanos en el Iraq de Sadam no sabíais nada hasta hace un par de años, verdad?

Telman, ni los delitos de sangre ni los comunes han descendido desde la instauración de la pena de muerte en Estados Unidos. Al contrario, han aumentado en los últimos 20 años. Puedes consultar las estadísticas que publica el gobierno federal cada año, que cantan solitas. Argumentar que la pena de muerte reduce los delitos es una falacia. Y los argumentos pro pena de muerte en EE UU, Arabia Saudí, China, Cuba o en Marte los proclaman los mismos que ejecutan las sentencias.
