Three cheers for Ron Paul. I have been opposed to US interventionism since the 1960's. At last! A viable candidate with the guts to say that our original foreign policy is still the best policy!

Re: A Ron Paul Primer

Ron Paul is a proponent of the Austrian School of economics. (So named because it started in Austria, it is now centered in Alabama.) The Austrian school teaches that government should not help or hinder any business enterprise. Rather, each business should succeed or fail entirely on its own merits. This means no regulations aimed at keeping people out of a particular business (e.g. cable TV or telephone monopolies) but it also means no corporate welfare.
For more information on what guides Ron Paul's ideas in economics, go to the source:

http://www.mises.org

Also go to:

http://www.lewrockwell.com

and check out the Ron Paul archive located there. It is a collection of articles written by Dr. Paul. You can get a really good idea of what he believes and why by reading those articles.

Re: Ron Paul, Spammer

I suppose the rally in Des Moines, Iowa last evening was "spammed." Well over 1000 real, live people showed up to support Ron Paul and protest his exclusion from the candidate forum held in the same building. Only about 600 people showed up for the main event. I suggest you watch the videos that are being posted all over the net today.
As for not voting Republican, I don't blame you. I would never vote Republican EXCEPT for Ron Paul. He is the only candidate of either party not bought, paid for and owned by the corporate elites who think they can run the country.
(Check the membership rolls of the CFR.)

Re: Slight diversion into politics…why is Ron Paul getting blog hype?

Anyone who has truly been in touch with the world knew Ron Paul's positions YEARS before he announced his run for the Presidency. We don't need a website to tell us where he stands on the issues, we knew years ago.

Where have you been hiding all this time? Why is it that you did not know who Ron Paul was or what his positions on issues where. What rock were you hiding under?

The fact is that Ron Paul has been widely known for a long time. Just take a look at his Congressional campaign funding. Although he represents a district in Texas, most of his funding comes from individuals who live outside Texas. Why? Because we know him and we support his positions. We have been urging him to run for many years. Now that he has FINALLY consented to run, we are pulling out all the stops to get him elected.

Ron Paul is THE ONLY candidate who has consistently voted against the was since BEFORE it started.

Ron Paul is THE ONLY candidate who will work for the repeal of the Federal Reserve Act. In fact, he's the only candidate with the intelligence to understand why it is important to get rid of the Fed.

Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who understands that we can get rid of the income tax and replace it with NOTHING! He is the only one who understands that the income tax only takes in 1/3 of Federal revenue and that cutting spending by 1/3 is EASY. (Just cut everything back to where it was before GWB took office.)

It is really telling that you had to LOOK UP Ron Paul. Intelligent people already KNEW.

Re: Ron Paul On Foreign Policy

Here, here! He has opposed Bush's war policies, his domestic policies, every thing Bush has done, Paul has opposed. He voted against the war, against the Patriot act, against the Military commissions act. He has introduced the American Freedom Agenda act which would overturn Bush's anti-freedom policies.
Ron Paul's record of voting against big government tax and spend policies and against an interventionist foreign policy stretches back to 1976. His long, consistent track record reveals his real feelings.
The fact that he hasn't left the GOP simply means that he wants a serious chance of being elected. As a third party candidate he would stand no chance at all, as he well knows from personal experience.

Re: That Ron Paul guy

I don't care if Ron Paul runs as a Republican, Democrat, Libertarian or Constitutionalist - I will vote for him no matter what ticket he's on. He's the only honest man in Congress today - of any party.
