My understanding is that ep 13 won't air. It will be DVD only. Or something.

Honestly, I think that if you can afford to drop money at retail stores, in this economy go for it. You're keeping poor retail people employed! Enjoy your birthday!!

in The Midnight Show: Weeknights at Our Apartment on CourtneyWatson.net
I feel ya. We have a toddler living upstairs. Between the running (for hours - the kid has stamina) and lately the dropping of large heavy objects over, and over, and OVER again it makes me want to murder. And it literally knocks the ceiling lights out with the shaking.

On the one hand, I get it, it's a small child. On the other hand, WHY IS YOUR BABY RUNNING LAPS AT MIDNIGHT?!

I've mentioned it to them once and got a "well, it's a baby" response so now I just bang on the ceiling with a mop when they're out of control at odd hours.

The other day we heard large dragging of furniture noises and really hoped they were move out noises. No dice. :)

in How many profiles do you have on Twitter?! on The Broad Brush
I can barely keep up with one. I've had to remove people who I like but who twitter too much for me to keep up with. Fine line between useful/informative and time sink for me.

tojosan Common sentiment Kim. Lots of folks just cruise their stream anyway, even with few folks they follow. I tend to think of mine as a gestalt or having a life of its own. It can be a big time sink if not carefully kept in check.

Thanks for dropping by.

in Buying some window insulation film soon on Fanatical Pupil
You could also see about weather stripping the door and caulking gaps in the exterior windowframes. (Not caulking them CLOSED but sometimes the frame comes apart letting drafts in.)

I spent some time in high school eons ago helping low income people put up the window plastic and learned a few tricks.

Be sure to figure out the, uhm, best way to use the restroom in the dress. I had a friend with a monster dress all bustled up and she damn near killed herself trying to go to the bathroom. Which was actually pretty funny for me.

Excited to see photos of the final result!!

in Offline Reading - Alive in my book on The Broad Brush
Books books books. I'll buy magazines and the occasional newspaper on occasion but for long term reading books. I think it's easier on the eyes for one thing. I also love the smell of books (is that weird?). And I can just grab a book and toss it in my bag.

I go back and forth on the Sony eReaders/Amazon Kindle. On the one hand, it would be nice to load up a bunch of books for a trip and just go - I always have such issues with books while traveling. On the other hand, batteries and lighting and whatever make it unappealing. I can just see it crashing badly and leaving me with nothing.

tojosan Oh I love magazines and shorter articles, but books are for sure the most satisfying. :)

The smell of books is magic. I still sniff new books. My son thinks I'm a dork for that. Ha.

I was kind of mad about the truncated season. I know it was the strike and all but they make a huge deal of this unstoppable virus - and then stop it in like 2 seconds. Ah well, let's see how the new season goes.

And I've missed Chuck. We watched a rerun recently and I'd forgotten how charming it is.

in Sayonara Tooth #18 on CourtneyWatson.net
Aw suck! Eons ago I had to have 8 teeth pulled in one sitting (4 babies, 4 wisdom) so I was shot full of local and laughing gas. It didn't hurt at the time, but I can still remember the cracking noises - if I hadn't been high out of my mind on the gas I'm pretty sure I woulda kicked someone in the face or in the nuts. I was pretty bloody and sore for a couple of days, what with having like half my teeth gone.

My point? Laughing gas is the best. :)

Kinder egg! We get some every Christmas - there's a Polish store in Chicago that carries them I do believe.
