in Spinning, Spamming and Twitter on Plagiarism Today
Hmm...The whole concept of spinning is interesting. I mean, people can spin their articles without using the software, but it makes it easier and faster to do. This kinda reminds me of high school. We would have to write down questions and answer them. We, of course, had the book to look for the answers. For most classes we couldn't copy the answers exactly as they were written in the book, we had to write down in our own words, so what a lot of students would do spin the answers by replacing a word or two or rearranging certain words, etc.

It is actually very similar to that, just repeated dozens of times with several alternatives in a single article. The only reason to use the software is if you plan on doing it many times over to the same work, otherwise, you're just wasting time...

in Why You Should License Your Work on Plagiarism Today
I have a graphic design website (which of course includes my portfolio). Since my portfolio consists of designs I've created for other people, I'm not sure if I should put a creative commons license on my site. Also, if I do, what would be an appropriate one to put on my site?

I find what Youtube is doing with the audio and stuff is a happy medium for everyone. I do appreciate what they're doing. Now if only they can doing something regarding the massive amounts of flase flagging and wrongful suspensions.

Ok, I've been out of the loop with your site for the longest time. What happened to Chris Mattews (if that's his name). Didn't he start this show.

in You Think U.S. Copyright Law is Bad? on Plagiarism Today
When it comes to the internet, I think that fair use needs to be more clearly defined world wide. I'm not sure if that's fessible or not. I post copyrighted material on my online profiles and I try my best to make a claim for fair use and even then I could have that stuff taken down for copyright infringment, that scares me a little. For video websites such as Youtube and livevideo, it's very hard to come out with 100% original material.

Hmm...That Youtomb link caught my attention. I can understand Youtube removing music videos and TV clips. But at the same time, it's nice to see (and even post) old music videos that people haven't seen in years. Besides posting songs on any social network site can be used as a form of expression...well...that's the case for me.
Anyway, if Youtube takes down any of my videos or even suspends my channel it's to big deal to me anymore. Not only am I addicted to Youtube, but there's too much drama that goes on over there.

"Mistakes" like that are made all the time. I mean, you have no idea how people have been suspended from Youtube for speaking their mind. Let me be specific here. If you piss off enough people on Youtube, they'll flag your videos for copyright infringement. Here's the kicker, most of the people who make controversial videos has some copyright material on at least one of their videos. That's enough to get somebody suspended. ON the other hand, you do have people who are suspended for copyright infringement, when they have no copyrighted material on it. It's bullshit. If for some reason, somebody wants to get their channel suspended, all they have to do is tell Muslim jokes, and debate the religion of Islam.

This guy has over 130,000 subscribers?! Holy shit that's a lot! and I never heard of this guy! I should check this guy's channel out since he reviews video games. It's funny how the company that he works with got his channel suspended. I could totally go for more subscribers on my channel. Although 130,000 is way too much for me. Hell, 1000 subscribers is too much for me....but that won't be happening anytime soon. :(

Hey Johnathan!
Man, I haven't been on this site in weeks, I've been busy...in other words, wasting my time on Youtube. Interesting show. You and Chris should have more guess on your show.
Anyway, I've noticed that you guys haven't covered fair use that much on your show (or maybe you have, like I said, I lost track of the show, and PT Today). Ever consider doing more shows on fair use?
