in Tweetie vs TwitterFon: iPhone Twitter App Showdown on iPhone in Canada - Tips and Tricks for Canadians iPhone Users
I use Tweetie and like it pretty well. My one minor gripe is that it uses (via @username) notation for retweets (vs. the "RT @username:" style I prefer.
Still, I'm much happier with Tweetie than other Twitted apps I've tried (a list that unfortunately doesn't include Twittedfon).

it seems the use of "RT" vs "via" is a design decision by the developer, he talks about it in his blog: http://blog.atebits.com/

in What do bloggers have to say ebook campaign on New Comm Biz
Though I remember you talking about this campaign a little bit at the time, it's very interesting to read this great overview, particularly your observations about what worked well and what you'd do differently.
I also love Jen's comment. I need my husband to write up what he does! ;)

I'd love an invite. I'm always trying to find better ways to discover and manage RSS feeds, and this looks like an interesting and useful tool.

I am a WordPress theme coder who helps designers (by writing code so they don't have to :) ). I tweet about anything and everything of interest to freelance designers.

Those are my two main requests, too. Everything else is pretty much tangential to them (managing who I follow on my 2nd account, etc.).

in Another Killer Ad on Pandora on Chris Brogan
I love Pandora. I've been going on for a year to my poor husband about how artfully they integrate ads.
It obviously takes a lot more work than just slapping a banner ad on top, but the result is something that users look at and even admire. If your business model is advertising revenue, isn't it worth the extra effort?

Congrats, Tac! If there was anyone tech-related in the valley you didn't know yet, this should remedy that. ;) Sounds like a great fit.

in Build a photo gallery for your blog [Tuesday Homework] on New Comm Biz
I'm effectively camera-less at the moment (the family camera accidentally got busted on a recent backpacking trip, and I wouldn't inflict the awful pics from my phone on anyone) but I'm digging the Photo Dropper plugin for WordPress.
It has a "Show only photos that can be used commercially" setting that deals with the Creative Commons question you raised—I use it just to be safe. But it's also handy to be able to search and embed all from the post editor screen. :)
Hopefully will be replacing the camera within the next week or so, though!

I discovered oDesk through this post, and started using it the same day. Now, almost two months later, I'm working with more than 10 providers and working on a book about oDesk. I guess you could say I'm sold on it. :)
The aspects I like best are the hourly rates (so I know what I'm paying for, and also because it works well for long-term projects) and their profile and testing system. I can get a very good idea of who I'm hiring without a lot of risk on my part.

Thanks for recognizing my descriptive fervor! :)
I installed the Delicious Stumbles Greasemonkey script last week and don't know how I lived without it; it makes it easy to cross-post, which makes both del.icio.us and StumbleUpon more useful to me.
I hope everyone takes your excellent advice (because then I can use more people as information filters).

in Missing: One Brain, Fair Condition. on tychoishI've been having some trouble with Gmail over the last day or two, too. My outgoing emails are taking hours or days to arrive in the recipient's inbox, and incoming emails don't seem to be any better.
Don't know what the issue is but I hope it gets fixed soon!

The most recent issue of Good Magazine also had a story about The Compact (which explains why it sounded so familiar when I started reading this post...). The article also talks about other efforts, like The Diggers and San Fran's Really Really Free Market.

in How To Get On An Information Diet on How To Split An Atom
I'm constantly struggling with information overload and the fear of missing "vital information" (right!).
Reducing my RSS feeds was one of the best things I've done (and I'm looking into the software that Anna recommended).
Thanks for reminding me about PopURLs... that goes a long way in quickly highlighting the best information as determined by the masses.

in Recommend a blog on New Comm Biz
I like (and think you will enjoy):
- Springwise: some of the coolest new business ideas from entrepreneurs, most of which can be expanded to other markets.
- Early to Rise: a multi-faceted daily guide to becoming healthy, wealthy and wise. Sometimes has some over-the-top ads but the articles make up for it.
- Tim Ferriss' blog: I'd be surprised if you're not already reading this one, but I find Tim's out-of-the-box thinking compelling and enlightening.

in The Most Expensive Excuse In Business on A New Marketing
I think you've got a good point. I also see a tendency in most people to spend time "researching" rather than actually creating something (I struggle with this myself). In the Sony example, the 100 unit experience test was critical, but many companies won't make it that far because they're researching an idea to death.
