I was gonna forward you the Emily Gould piece, but I see someone above me already has. You should check it out, there are some definite parallels.

#13 It's not a knapsack (knapsack is just a synonym for regular backpacks.)

What you're thinking of is a bindle. See here:

@101

So the world's ugly, and we should bury our heads in the sand?

@46&47:

Wookay. Thanks for the 'searing' insight. But in this particular context, how does distinguishing race and religion become relevant?

The issue Ms.Pau seems to be bothered by (and, correct me if I'm wrong) is that two bloggers and self-proclaimed followers of Is-*ahem*, excuse me, 'A Certain Religion' shot a video of their discussion, which which involved all sorts of callous and almost bigoted remarks against other members of their nation whom did not subscribe to their religious beliefs.

Backlash ensues, and their pathetic attempt at a defense is 'It was a joke'. To which Ms. Pau called "Bullshit!" (albeit slightly more eloquent than I).

No where do I see Ms.Pau painting an entire religion with broad strokes. Are you sure you read the same blog post?!

And what exactly do we have to be ungrateful about?

Speaking of words...

"that does not at all redempt him for the lousy set he played that night."

I think the word you're looking for is redeem?

Sorry to get all grammar-nazi-like on you, as always the rest was a fabulous post and fantastic pics...

How refreshingly upbeat for what can typically be a solemn outing! :)
The 'camwhoring with gramma' caught me off guard though...good job.

Yes, Ice Age 2 was a complete letdown (even though I haven't seen it.)

Man, what I'd give to be back in that part of the hemisphere right now... ;)

A few humble pointers (culled from embarassing experience!) from someone who shares your semi-banana quality :

1.Ping=ice
Shuet=snow
Therefore, 'ice-tea' = 'ping-cha', not 'shuet-cha'

Cheen=money
'Lui'= farked up m'sian cantonese, etymology unknown.
Therefore, 'no money'= 'mo cheen', not 'mo-lui'

That's all I can think of at the mo. Hope it helps, have fun!
Cheers.
