in Plurking My Days Away on quaintly
OMG what a timely post! I just refreshed quaintly.net because I gave up the intention of signing up for Plurk just to drop in a respond for your nasi lemak query. But after reading this, I MAY go back and register myself on Plurk too, heh.
So yes, back to your query of where to have the best nasi lemak!! I have a few favourites and they are all special in their own ways so don't bother comparing them with each other but try to savour each as its own.
1. Nasi Lemak Famous in Bangsar. This is a stall near one corner in the food court opposite Bangsar Village 2. There are alot of nasi lemak stalls here but make sure you look out for one that has a sign/banner above it that says "Nasi Lemak Famous". It's often layan-diri style and I would so recommend you to just pile your rice with those fried flour bits that they salvaged after deep frying the chicken. Those are so flavourful and crunchy and goes really well with your rice.
2. Nasi Lemak @ Sea Park. Some call it the Maybank nasi lemak because it's a make shift stall set up in front of the Maybank branch in Sea Park. The sambal here is the best! Its texture is runny yet it's very spicy and has lots of ikan bilis and onions in it but the amount is becoming more miserable in recent days.
3. Village Park, Damansara Uptown. This place is a little overrated but I have my nasi lemak there every Sunday morning because it's generally a very conducive place to just sit on and catch up with friends after the food. The only thing that I really like here is the fried chicken. Many claim that this is one of the best nasi lemaks around the area.
Okay, there's more but these are my personal Top 3s. :) By the way, the Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa was quite unmemorable for me, there wasn't anything to shout about. It's only convenient for the party-going crowd as it's a short drive from Jalan Ampang and it's opened 'till late.
So please eat an extra plate of nasi lemak for me, Su Ann! The ones here (in Melbourne) are nothing compared to what they have back home. :( Enjoy!

I don't ride trains much but I could imagine myself as one of the many people at the train station, looking exactly how you'd described - sad and tired and world-weary, with impossible battles to fight. I've been feeling like this all week, and it's comforting to know that I have a post written, in some ways, about me. Heh. And I can totally second the part where you wrote about being proven wrong time and time again about the people who would always be there for you. Sigh!

By the way, in regards to the comment thread on Suet Li's blog - CIMB DO pay their interns, according to a friend who works there. Sigh CIMB was my first choice to do my internship at! So I suppose Martian's an investment banker with the bank!

I was a pinkskyes reader too! But of course have always remained more of a silent reader than anything else; still love your blog muchos nevertheless. :) Heyyy I just recalled something! Wanna know how I found pinkskyes? Through one of Samantha's (aka Reverie) blogposts back then! Heh.

in I Heart Reflections Bangkok! on quaintly
I HAD to pay immediately after booking because I took AirAsia's Flight + Hotel package. I just did abit of calculations and realize that it's not very much cost-saving o.O Haha clubbing really isn't on my list of To Do's in Bangkok but my boyfriend insist that we check out Bedsupperclub so thank youuu for all the tips and for all your very enlightening write-ups on BKK. :)

Su Ann, I wish you'd gone to Bangkok sooner and wrote about this earlier! :P I've just paid for flight and hotel (definitely NOT Reflections, sigh!) for my upcoming BKK trip next month just two weeks back. Reflections looks exactly like the kind of hotel I'd stay in. I contemplated on the Shanghai Inn which touts itself as a boutique hotel too but I finally settled for Le Fenix on Sukhumvit (I keep seeing this street name in this post and the one on Chatuchak so I guess my choice of hotel can't be wrong? Hehe, YAY)
Oh and what you wrote about Chatuchak got me all fired up for shopping in Bangkok! I can't wait! :D

Haha yeah, the Fete de la Musique was a huge, huge disappointment. Alot of college bands pulled out for unknown reasons and performances on the other Telawi street was cancelled. Four stages were supposed to be set up in different venues but in the end it was only down to three. The only captivating performance was the Capoeira! So much for having faith in my co-organizer college!

Eh? I was at the Saturday night show of Grease too. What a coincidence. So they ran out of programme books. Was wondering how come they didn't have any!

Will definitely try my hardest to watch Actorlympics this time round... thank you for the reminder! I see those colourful promotional postcards of Habeas Corpus everywhere in college but I don't know why it never occured to me that it'd be good. Oh well, there's still Actorlympics soon right!

Thank you for the awesome review, Su Ann. And I can't believe I missed the very first part of the movie where the wife prepares the butter and kaya bread all because I was at a shop taking my time to eat butter and kaya toast!!! AHH. Will find a time to watch it again I suppose. Glad you like Pete Teo, I LOVE him. =) You can try listening to the Marianne Trilogy, since you like one of the Marianne songs.

Yes, weren't we swayed by Pete's lovely song to stay on. Btw, never thought you like Pete Teo as well? Lol, always had this impression that you're someone into the rock genre mostly? 'Cept for Damien Rice, that is. Can't wait to hear your review on Gubra. Are you awake yet?! Heh.

Been meaning to try it ever since I saw it on the menu at the KLCC outlet! And I've always thought that the KLCC one serves it but hey, OU does it instead! Good good, now delicious fondues are only 15 minutes away!!

Haha yeah the CLEO bachelors!!! Last year was "What's a pedal- pusher?" I remember it cuz the answers they came up with was really really funny too. =D Hey, thanks for the wife-beater and antimacassar definitions! And now I think i can skip that section of the mag cuz I just can't seem to find time to even read any part of CLEO April.

Oh they have Starburst candies here in M'sia too! Haha, Starburst is the name I stole from one harmless sweet onto my drawing block for Pendidikan Seni exam in Form 3. I chose to do some packaging design for a food company.

I flip through DIGI ads everyday but never notice the things that you do. Because I think I'm more drawn to Petronas-like ads, or anything Yasmin Ahmad (pure genius too!). The one time DIGI ever caught my eye was with their recent logo change (now it's soooo plain!) and yes, that TV ad with the high jump guy. Haha.
BTW, I think you'd become a really good copywriter. Have you decided on what to major in yet? When are we gonna sit down and talk about future plans?! =D

The server's being upgraded. Sorry.
Oh yeah, heard from my friend that you were really good at the public speaking competition. And he has nothing but praises for you! But I'm confused, if I'm not wrong you kinda said (in one of your entries) that you were pulling out from the competition? But I'm glad that everything went well in the end. Let me know if you're in the finals, so I can look out for you if I'm among the audience!

'Cos the server's currently being updated, which I just found out at my webhost's Help Desk site. It says it'll go on 'till midnight today. =(
By the way, about your Lit. teacher.. I wish I knew him! (How did you anyway?) Because I couldn't find a good teacher (the one since i had in form 4 never, ever really taught us anything, argh, and I was so disappointed that I stopped and studied on my own for a couple of months) until a month before SPM. Lol, and he teaches in SS2? That's like, a 3 minute drive from where I live!
