in Is atheism related to negative thinking? on Ubiquitense - tune in to your senses
"in this sense we live a ghostly life, unable to see and think beyond what ever is informing us, thinking us, framing us." - I see your point!
There is nothing wrong in being an atheist or a theist - as belief is the underlying word. Atheists believe in non-existence of God, and the theists believe in His existence. In my opinion, I'm just starting to feel that atheists, in fact, think positively and have got a broader outlook. As I said above in the post, this inference comes from my various encounters and talks on religion and beliefs with people from many countries.
----------
By and by, thanks for the compliments :) The theme (the one you're using right now) that I was using prior to this involved a lot of work to make a single post, like pictures in various dimensions for thumbs, main post and so on. This one is cool, coz it has got an inbuilt image resizer and I don't have to worry about customizing the images.

I agree, your points on Russia are very true. Another weak point is that Russia didn't have an equivalent of Hollywood :) Most Hollywood movies were anti-Russian or anti-German (all Germans are Nazi war criminals according to Hollywood movies). Russia, probably, failed to realize movie as a propaganda medium - a very powerful influencing agent.
So, for radio waves, you need a gadget to see them, but cannot see those waves with your naked eyes right? I don't think we have a gadget to see God, yet; I don't think it would get that simple :)

@Samuel - Nice points! I said Russia was a failure because it wasn't able to sustain the super-development and the socialist setup it was able to attain in a very short period.
"The invisible and the nonexistant are very much alike." - Well, your mobile phone or satellite connectivity is via invisible radio waves, which are omnipresent. They are very much invisible AND EXISTENT!! Man has simply accomplished the art of utilizing this invisible energy for something creative. However, the same doesn't apply to God, who is invisible. The only things man created in the name of God are 'holy war' and superstition - ridiculous!!

in WALL-E: Movie review on Ubiquitense - tune in to your senses
Yes, the movie is just too good! Try getting a ticket for this weekend :)
Thanks for the compliment! Yeah, the old blog was a typical magazine type theme, which required a lot of customization. The current one is simple, uncluttered, and generates thumbnails and resizes images automatically - I don't have to resize them manually for the front page and the inner banners!! This is the power of Wordpress :), and the ingenuity of the creator of this theme! Thanks to them!!

in Ubuntu Linux - ‘m loving it! on Ubiquitense - tune in to your senses
That's cool. Actually, 'm a fan of Fedora and PCLinuxOS...but the number of CDs required to install them is more...laborious I should say considering the broadband speeds in our country!!

in I’m starting to dislike Windows Vista - here’s why… on Ubiquitense - tune in to your senses
yep, we are :) I wish all those vendors could bundle Ubuntu along with the notebooks and desktops, instead of Windows Vista!! Some vendors like Dell and Lenovo do offer Linux loaded notebooks, but they are not marketed properly :(

in I’m starting to dislike Windows Vista - here’s why… on Ubiquitense - tune in to your senses
Very true!! I've been using Ubuntu for more than 3 years...right from day one of its launch! I was given 40 free copies that were shipped directly from the UK!! Though there were problems with it, I believe the latest version of Ubuntu is just too good to realize that you are using Linux :) It even detected my friend's Tata Indicom data card (not as some generic device!!).
It is very user friendly, and MS lovers calling Linux non-user friendly doesn't hold much water nowadays! I'm said that I'm not supposed to install Ubuntu on my office notebook :(

in Some very interesting programs on Nat-Geo, Animal Planet and others… on Ubiquitense - tune in to your senses
They can't be banned. People are governed by emotions, and more the number of serials that kindle your negative emotions, the more divided and corrupted the society is - prevents you from thinking broader and deeper. This is what the advertising companies and finally the politicians want from us to 'govern' us. I've even stopped watching news channels when they tarnished the image of the poor Arushi. They were so intent in damaging the girl's image citing some 'relationship' with her servant, than tracing the murderer. They conduct some stupid SMS polls too..ach mein Gott!!

Yeah right Nick! I just didn't want to use the word 'hate' as it is too strong a word :) I used to wonder, they spent more than 5 years in developing this silly OS - why didn't they put it to sufficient testing before releasing it to the public!?! I believe the only useful feature is the 'start menu'-integrated search.

in TATA SKY online recharge - will they ever get it right? on Ubiquitense - tune in to your senses
Don't worry buddy...this is not a serious issue to worry too much about when there are more serious things like petrol/diesel shortages, rising food prices, etc. I just narrated my experience with online recharge...may be you'll get it right just at the first try. If not, keep trying, you will make it :)

in Helmet, and the ordeals with the traffic police… on Ubiquitense - tune in to your senses
I think you better read the post again. I'm not complaining about wearing helmet on hot humid days, tis that there are so many important things that needs to be taken care of when it comes to traffic management than taking up a trivial thing like wearing helmet. Those unruly trucks and cabbies are ready to ram you down and drive over you and in my opinion this needs to be checked in the first place.
hey, is ur dad a cop?
don't ever justify the attitude of the cops. I've been to many countries and I know the difference. People like you don't speak up there, but write a comment without getting the context? comment for comment sake? very funny!

in Rising petrol and diesel prices in India - What should be done… on Ubiquitense - tune in to your senses
True, but people will not accept a steep increase in petrol or diesel. You should also consider that we already pay more for the older generation cars that run on Indian roads, and adding to this the steep increase is just a burden. Let me quote an example, the Hyundai Accent 2008 (or Verna in India and a few other developing countries..) costs about six lakh rupees in developed countries. Mind you, it comes with 'Advanced dual front airbags, front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, and roof-mounted curtain side-impact airbags', ABS and other safety features...but over here...the car costs close to 8 lakhs and does not include any of the aforementioned safety features! we're always taken for a ride..

True! 'tis not about just 'not wearing' helmets..tis the attitude of the police that turns me off..first of all, they must talk polite and realize that our tax money is their income...

Lol, yeah :) full face helmets also block the vision on the sides ... it's sad that we have to turn your head 70 degrees to ogle at a sexy female walking down the street...

in Helmet, and the ordeals with the traffic police… on Ubiquitense - tune in to your senses
Not sure, never heard of one such thing from the helmet shops. Secondly, there is no value for money...I can still remember people buying normal full face helmets for 1100 bucks where they were worth just Rs. 800! There was a mad rush to escape police nuisance, more than justpaying the meager 50 bucks fine :)

in Helmet, and the ordeals with the traffic police… on Ubiquitense - tune in to your senses
Yeah I know, and 've been to Delhi many times. The BIG difference between Delhi and Chennai is the humidity factor. Even if tis just 36 you will sweat and get drenched... I wear glasses, and the sweat just pours over the glasses if I wear a helmet...

True, I use the http://pgportal.gov.in/ extensively to get things right. They do respond, but you've to give some three months :( But as learned people, we can to a great extent keep our streets clean.
