No matter how you look at it, it's a trojan horse (the greek one, not the virii). Just because the receivers of this gift are too stupid to look inside the box, doesn't mean that it's not underhanded and sneaky.

Sadly, I just don't see most users being smart enough to a.) care about what they're clicking yes too, and b.) smart enough to know it's an application and not some kind of plugin for itunes.

I wish I was wrong about them, but I stand by my words. Anyone who cares enough about web browsers knows where to find them. I don't think this is brilliant, and I don't really see it helping to increase their browser market, so I don't really see a point. But that's just my opinion... lol.

The *nix shell was one of the major reasons why I switched from windows to os x a couple years ago. The only things i've found to piss me off... is the inability to switch to passive mode on my wireless card... *shudders*

My understanding is that you will only get N speeds if all the devices on the network are running on the N system. If you have B/G on the network, the speed for all machines connected will automatically downgrade to the lowest common protocol.

Good call. Also just to clarify the .spotlight files are in the root of the volume you're looking to fix. So in my case.

cd /Volumes/MainHD
rm -r .Spotlightfile

Every volume will have a .spotlight file.
