I don't think the disagreement here is fundamentally religious at all. Either you try to base your knowledge on evidence, or you think it's okay to believe in the absence of any evidence. If the latter, then you give yourself permission to believe quite literally any crazy thing you -- or anyone else -- can think up.

I reserve the right to judge you (and anybody else), but Enchanted has a 93% rating at Rotten Tomatoes. That's a score you'd normally see on "quality" films (i.e. Oscar bait) that aren't nearly as much fun as Enchanted is. So hold your head high.
