Perhaps the circle of EA and Sony Online Entertainment?

Re: Google testing “AdSense for Games” in bid to shake up in-game advertising

In-game advertising is nothing new, but a Google take on the whole scenario could prove to either be a big hit, or a massive miss. I'm not one to nay say any new ideas, but as Jimbo point out above, gamers by definition are a fickle bunch, and often very vocal. The team in Mountain View is going to have to pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat to pull this one off with panache. My view is that 30 second slots between levels or quests is going to cause a massive backlash, one that we'd all rather avoid I'm sure.

Re: http://www.multiplayergames.com/2008/08/13/archlord-expands/

Very nice to see a free to play title that is consistently delivering fresh content to it's players. In an industry where infrequent updates plague a number of F2P titles, Codemasters seem to be on the ball here and continuing to bring in new players. Kudos!

Re: Virtual goods: Who will be the Amazon.com of virtual item sales?

Hi Andrew! Thanks for putting this discussion out on the table, as it's obviously one that interests us very much. While there continue to be great developments in tailoring a virtual world economy, will publishers really be willing to release control of their in game
ecosystem to an outside provider? Or...would they rather implement an entire primary and secondary marketplace themselves?

Which brings up the next question of, how much are they going to allocate to development of these services. Obviously, in today's market, it's vital for publishers to diversify revenue streams, but for a number it's simply a question of how soon can they bring the
product to market?

At fatfoogoo we believe in providing a set of tools to the gaming community, allowing game operators to build their own amazon in-game. Or their own ebay in-game. Or a combination of both. We package it in a plug-n-play model, with the ability to roll out primary or secondary market stores within a minimum timeframe.

Re: WarCry Network with Travis Baldree

It's great to see an awesome project rising from the ashes of a sadly gone player in the market. Travis hits the nail squarely on the head with his view of subscriptions vs. microtransactions. In today's market, a number of leading game experts are urging studios to diversify their revenue streams via in game advertising, micro transactions, even in game gambling. If Runic can manage to get this recipe right, they may just catapult from history to victory.

Re: Combat Arms - Free Online FPS

Played it...love it! I've added only a few of the upgrades available, but even without, the game is fast moving, fun, and best of all....free!

Re: Q&A: Microsoft game exec John Schappert talks about Xbox Live, Netflix deal, and Blu-ray

Outstanding article! As a leading provider of microtransaction ecosystems, we're watching these developments with great interest.

@Chris - I agree with you 100%. The multiple entertainment options Microsoft is developing is speaking to their fans desires and requests for more than just a gaming console.
