in U.S. Attorneys Scandal Reignited on The Washington Independent
We need to be able to present evidence to grand juries ourselves. Common citizens should be able to contact an independent panel of grand jurors at all courthouses, state and federal. We should be able to turn in judges for misconduct, US Attorney, police officers, George W. Bush, anyone from the public or private sector.

The Grand Jury would then vote to have private investigators investigate the perps, or not. We the people need this check and balance back. Congressman Keith Ellison is proposing a Private Attorney General Bill to bolster Grand Juries. Other senators and congresspersons are starting to see the light to see the bill gets passed this January.

in U.S. Attorneys Scandal Reignited on The Washington Independent
Connecticut is a target rich environment for federal prosecutions for public corruption, yet Nora D. seems to have dropped the ball. Connecticut might have more embedded, rampant corruption than Louisiana ever did.

So, it is suspect that a US Attorney from Connecticut is supposed to get any kind of justice in the US Attorney firing scandal.

If you read Connecticut newspapers for any length of time, you think "God, why would anyone have anyone from Connecticut involved in anything requiring ethics?"

in Skittle-Buying Middle Schooler Busted on odd time signatures
This is how they treat children in Connecticut.

A 6'5 Homeland Security officer hauled a 13 year old girl in Seymour into a school back room and asker her sexual orientation as she had passed a note to another girl. If that is not beyond ridiculous, I don't know what is.

I owned a Connecticut home, was raising a family, and I had built up a business over 20 years. I had no criminal record and I pepper spray a felon who tried to rob me after jumping me in my Stafford Springs, Connecticut, dark driveway. Connecticut State Police came and only arrested me. Self-defense is illegal in Connecticut, so a Connecticut Judge, Jonathan Kaplan, sentenced me to a year in prison.

I have lost my family, ability to work and own a home.

To the children and their parents in Connecticut, get out while you can.

in Gov. Rell makes a decision on Chief Justice | a public defender on a public defender
Former Justice Sullivan makes "hooker" comment to minority legislator. It shows his thinking.

This is how the White Male dominated courts think. Qualified Immunity should be revoked. Even when a Supreme Court Justice breaks the law, he should be arrested, handcuffed, placed in lock up, face bail, and a trial.

Fair is fair.

in New bill to amend the death penalty plods/languishes | a public defender on a public defender
I don't think Connecticut should be trusted with the Death Penalty as I have seen how ridiculous Connecticut courts are first hand.

I lodged complaints against a judge, trying to have me removed and he later allows my assailant who beat me during a robbery attempt to have immunity for prosecuting me for defending myself with pepper spray giving me a year in prison with no previous record.

The same judge told my friend that he was having his kids taken away because my friend is Irish and their is strife in Ireland. What!!!???

He went on to say that my friend must also be unstable for having lodged a complaint against a judge. The same judge made a personal appearance before another court preceding making sure questionable charges weren't dropped and that my friend be arrested and face prison.

Try putting my name, "Steven G. Erickson" in a yahoo search engine and you'll see how illegal Connecticut Courts are in their supposed justice.

I have a book on Supreme Court Decisions and it is amazing how often Connecticut had to be brought to the Supreme Court just to affirm citizens rights are valid, even in Connecticut!

in More death penalty news and figures - MA and CT | a public defender on a public defender
Judge Jonathan Kaplan is the most recent judge in Connecticut to weigh in on the Michael Ross case.

Whether you believe in the Death Penalty or not, how Connecticut courts operate should be alarming.

Connecticut courts have been in violation of ADA laws at least since 1990 and don't follow State laws, nevermind the US Constitution.

Some states should not be trusted with the Death Penalty and Connecticut is one.

Try putting "Steven G. Erickson" in a yahoo search engine and you'll know what I mean.

in Death penalty complex litigation stagnant | a public defender on a public defender
I believe in the Death Penalty.

Connecticut should not be trusted with the Death Penalty.

I proposed Civilian Oversight of Police and blasted Police behavior in newspapers pissing off the former Police Commissioner Arthur L. Spada.

Try putting "Arthur L. Spada" in a yahoo search engine, and something I wrote should come out.

I went out live, nationwide over the radio tonight talking about Connecticut corruption and why Connecticut courts should be shut down.

in Admissibility of prior crimes - Appellate Court decision | a public defender on a public defender
Try putting "Connecticut State Police Misconduct" or

"What is prison really like?" in a yahoo search engine.

What I wrote should come up. Try "Arthur L. Spada" the former Connecticut State Police Commissioner.

I went out live nationwide on AM and FM stations and a live internet feed at 7PM EST. I brought up corruption in Connecticut and the lengths officials will go to punish whistleblowers.

I'm calling for the Connecticut Court system to be shut down until it's fixed.

in Rowland state sentencing - CLARIFICATION | a public defender on a public defender
I went to Rowland's office involving Connecticut Police misconduct and other corruption issues as early as 1996.

I think he and his aids helped shut me up about corruption.

I was attacked on my property during a robbery attempt at night 10-11-01.

For using pepper spray I was arrested, and my assailant given immunity. Self-defense isn't legal.

I was sentenced to a year in prison, 3 years probation by Rockville Judge Jonathan Kaplan, Oct 2002. I had no previous record.

I lost my business and $500,000 in real estate, my dog, and the sum total of my honest, hard working life.

While in prison I dreamed of writing Rowland a nasty letter, with me out and he in prison. Governor John G. Rowland was still the Republican golden boy at that point and had his eye on the Presidency.

When I got out, I went straight to the newspapers and US State's Attys saying their was a corruption connection between Connecticut State Police Commissioner Arthur L. Spada and Governor John G. Rowland.

I also emailed and called Fox News until O'Riley did a talking point memo called "The Death of Shame in America" asking resident to march on Hartford and demand Rowland resign in that mid Dec. 2003 broadcast.

I can now write Rowland a letter with he in prison, me out, poetic justice ...
