Is true that the tracking comment sphere is evolving. There are a few players out there. I particulary like cocommet. NO need to be a blog owner and does not takes traffic away from sites.

I have been using cocomment and like it very much. I don't have to be a blog owner and it tracks all of my comments displaying them on a central page. where I can view and respond from there.
Not sure what Palin means by cocomment being more of an individual comment tracking.

Yes we are very excited with the Virgin partnership, will help them carry over conversations well after the radio show is finished.
At cocomment we are into building conversations sharing them with friends and allow our users to form groups with a common topic of interest.

felix Joaquin, thanks for stopping by. It hadn't happened recently - my CoComment experiment was a few months ago. Right now, though, Disqus has a few killer features that I'm really into - the email management and integration with FriendFeed. I think that's a baseline for me, right now.

sidmarks Am I mistaken or does coComment not even do what Disqus does. It appears they're completely different services.

Can't speak for anyone else, but coComment never really worked for me.

mathewi I thought CoComment was pretty good, Joaquin. But Disqus is more of
an all-in-one kind of thing -- which could be good or bad, depending
on your perspective, I suppose. As I said in the post, I like the
fact that it ties in with your email, making it easy to respond to a
comment. And it handles spam as well, which is a pretty killer
feature for me.

Hi, Nice re-cap of 2007. As you mentioned we did a face-lift last year and run into some issues. Fortunately we managed to correct all the issues our users where encountering, and always tried to communicate our progress to them. It seems to have paid off, we are now over 860,000 users! We are constantly improving our service, and security problems like the one you mentioned are being address by communicating better our existing security features, whitelisting (introduced in 07) and blacklist (available since the beginning) had our user known about our blacklist, this problem would have been prevented .

Hi,
Thanks for the extensive comparison. As you said "coComment is the most feature rich and potentially powerful", and likely some extra simple steps are necessary to support this. We are still trying to make it as simple and reliable as possible. I read you were having some trouble with cocomment, please let me know so we can look into it. Since our V2 upgrade we have fixed most of the bugs, but some still to be fixed.
