in Father’s Day Treasures… on Another Wine Blog
Wow, Amy, I didn't realize that was a "real" photo. I thought you had grabbed an old stock photo of idyllic 50s life. That is very cool as is this blog entry.
I've got an entire shelf at my office with treasures from Alex. I also have a box of treasures spanning the entire 18 years Lori and I have been together. Anybody that saw the box would think it was junk, but I know if the house is ever on fire (god forbid) that box of "junk" is one of the first things I'll grab.

in The Food Network - Ultimate Recipe Showdown on Another Wine Blog
While Fieri annoys me (to see a much more watchable version of what he does, flip on Travel Channel's Man v. Food Adam Richman), the constant pimping of Giada De Laurentis is what upsets my stomach. Talk about trading on your family name with no chops to back it up. Vapid does not begin to describe her shows. Additionally, she reveals rear teeth that are concealed in most human smiles (green haired Batman villians not included).

Giada scares the bejeebers out of me. She always reminds me of smiling version of Zorak from 'Space Ghost Coast to Coast.'
However, in her defense, she did study at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and was a chef in California, including a gig at Spago. Also, the Food Network had to talk her into doing the show. I have heard that due to her last name she was taught from an early age never to draw attention to herself out of fear of being targeted by kidnappers. Her cooking skills are reputed to be very good and she is also supposed to be just as nice in person as she appears to be on TV.
That said, I have never liked any of her shows. 'Vapid' is a good description, as is 'boring.'

in Budweiser is bought by company that brews Stella Artois on Another Wine Blog
Anybody else have a feeling that most of the people saying they aren't gonna drink Bud anymore were already buying Old Milwaukee because its $2.50 cheaper a six-pack?

in A little bit of everything on Another Wine Blog
Okay. Anotherwineblog owes me a new keyboard, as I just spit my morning coffee on mine reading the dog/cat/husband incident.
Also, Little Ball of Hate just entered my vocabulary to describe the stray cat that my wife feeds off our back porch. Until now, my son had just called him "Stripes."

I bet the most dominant color in that box is green ;)
